Hull failed miserably tonight then.

You got these sound problems in Leeds too or is it Hull trying to fix problems that's causing them?

Bit of a treat for us tonight in Belmont. Choice of Peter on Analogue and Harry with (I think) Jenny Hill on Freeview. No idea why.

Harry and Jenny were apparently on analogue Belmont too at the start. Freeview and Sky stuck with them to the end. The sound problems in Leeds were awful though, every time they played a VT the sound from the studio disappeared. They did find time to tease Paul about Peter though which I suppose would be strange for those not watching the Hull programme who don't know the history behind Look North.

So it's been announced that ITV are hoping to reduce the number of regional news programmes. For this region it means back to one edition of Calendar

I can see it now "Welcome to Calendar, and we're now back together again, reuniting the whole region as one happy Calendar family. Tonight's headlines..."

God knows what it means for all the presenters (as well as those behind the scenes). There will obviously also be no regional bulletin opt-outs like there used to be either

Good to see the BBC are familar with where Calendar serves, and are assuming the extra edition covers the same patch as the extra Look North

Sports coverage seems to have been boosted on Look North Leeds with Tanya Arnold appearing on the programme most days

I expect it is no coinciedence that this has happened at the same time as Calendar's sports team has been weakened (with John Shires and Jason McCartney no longer being part of the team)

Hardly weakened - John Shires did a sport report on Calendar North today (film of Boxer Ingle) and Jason McCartney wants to be an MP (a Tory......oh well) and with the reuniting of Calendar in the near future, expect to see Mr Shires returned to his rightful place. Don't forget that John Helm regularly chips in and that Rachel Phillips is proving to be quite a good sports reporter.

David Hirst, who reads the sport on Monday's now, doesn't exactly entertain in the same way as Jason did

The ITV region changes won't start until 2009 so Shires will be taking a back Sports seat for a while yet. I wonder if he is still Sports Editor and whether he will still sit in for Andy Townsend on Soccer Night?

There's Paul Burland as well

I saw this in The Sun today, and thought it was a very nice gesture, has anything been mentioned about this in Yorkshire?

There was also a section within LNL last night; interview with Richard's partner - also it formed part of Inside Out North last night.

Nice free advert for a shopping centre in ULL tonight.

On a more serious note following Blue Peter's pussygate scandal will the producers of Look ULL have to come clean about the Look ULL name change poll Wink
