It's Community Radio, what do you expect?

Gillian Merron is good at avoiding answering questions, isn't she?

I'm not sure if it is classed as community radio. It is a local radio licence and meant to be a commercial station for Hull. WHCR is supposed to be the community station for Hull. Ironically this seems to be made up of the other half of the aforementioned Viking FM & hospital Radio retirees Razz

Yeah I think I am mistaken in thinking it's community radio. They have public file and everything on their website.

Yeah, KCFM is a new commercial radio station although listening you could be forgiven for thinking it was community radio! Not good...

Blimey, KCFM really is like a who's who of long forgotten Viking FM DJ's.

Laughing Not forgetting Hull's infamous hospital radio! It looks and sounds like very much radio on the cheap, VERY cheap, but then the business model doesn't really add up. I can't see it working. It was supposedly pitched at the lower end of Radio Hullsides audience. The format is typical late 80's early 90's. The trouble is Radio has moved on from there. Its just all a bit anoraky & sad.

Can't speak for KCFM's non-sport content as I've only listened to the football, but the jingles are absolutely terrible. Smoothness in general could be better but it's early days.

No idea what audiences have been like so far but promotional activities at Hull City matches seem to have brought a lot of callers to their post-match phone-ins.

Interesting anno on BBC1 Yorkshire last night:

"This is BBC1 in Yorkshire. Now the Ten O'clock News with Huw Edwards and Ian White."

*Up pops Fiona Bruce*

One thing that I despise is pre-recorded annos. As well as errors like this, it becomes so tiring hearing exactly the same thing every night, without any variation in the voice whatsoever.

Peter has gone over the bridge! Shocked

By the way, just in case the caption and Peter saying it five times didn't make it clear enough, those pictures are LIVE!

Good on News 24 for choosing Hannah Moffat instead of Peter for their live report!

I thought Look North Hull did a good programme tonight. No technical hitches that I can recall despite doing most of it on location, minimal Levyisms and good, detailed content on the fire in Skegness. Early mistakes have been learnt from and there was a round-up of news from the studio rather than none at all or Levy doing it on location. Only the last interview was maybe redundant.

How did Calendar cover it?

Calendar just did a usual size report as their top story I think. Top marks to Levy, he's always good when something important happens.

I wondered what that fiery glow outside my window was last night!
