It all went a bit tits at 8am as well. We were treated to about half a minute of BBC London News, and I'm not sure if something was wrong with the lighting, but Tom's face looked decidedly dark... and I don't think he's been on the St Tropez. Wink

only on Digital though I think, Emley analogue had opted, as had Hull on DSat.

Interesting that the weather is coming from the CSO via a plasma at breakfast, rather than Chris being in the Leeds studio like Lisa usually is.

Who was the woman doing the Breakfast bulletins today? I've never seen her before, although I thought she was very good - much more professional than a lot of their other stand-ins.

What did she look like? If she had a Scottish accent it'll have been Hannah Moffatt....

Or if it's the same person that was on the lunchtime, it'll have been Caroline Davis.

Was that in Hull?

Nope - Leeds.

Thanks Katherine. Any chance you could help me out about the DVD please??

Yes - that was her. Couldn't remember the name at the time. Does anyone know where she's come from? I'm guessing she's probably done the news elsewhere as she was a bit too cool and confident for a newbie!

She often fills in on the late bulletin instead of Ian White.

This being the first example of using a presenter that is not skilled in the art of self-opting at Breakfast time, what with that skill not being required anymore

Talking of Ian White, they failed to opt out again at 10pm, instead we got the headlines from BBC London.

She (Caroline Davis) used to occasionally present afternoon bulletins on BBC Look North & Cumbria.

And Radio Cleveland too - just searched on Google and found this:

Quote:
Caroline started her radio career six years ago here at BBC Radio Cleveland. Fresh from university, her first role on the station was that of broadcast journalist.

It was soon discovered however that Caroline shall we say had the "gift of the gab" and it wasn't long before she was given the chance to talk solidly for three hours a day on the breakfast show.

"I remember it well… those early mornings were a killer!", she says. She presented the show for two years and became known for her bubbly approach to the early mornings. "I didn’t feel bubbly at the time!", she chuckles.

Caroline also presented the mid-morning show for 18 months. As Special Features Journalist Caroline will now be getting her teeth into more local stories.

She's had a change of hair colour too, by the looks of things:

From brunette to blonde...

And somebody else I didn't recognise this morning. Amanda somebody? Are they trying out new people at the moment or somet?

(BTW sorry for my vagueness on this topic, but I tend to see the 7.55 bulletin only 10 minutes after getting up, so not very awake then!)

Amanda Harper.

Also Caroline Davis is Danny Savage's replacement but I thought he was 'coming back' to Look North in September?

I suspect he's been on an attachment doing national stuff. However, very often in the Beeb, people on attachment go on to get full-time jobs at wherever it is they've been working and never go back to their original job. Just a guess.

Oh, and yes, it was Amanda Harper - thanks.

Appearing soon in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, two brand new adverts, starring Peter Levy, Helen Fospero, Paul Hudson, about 200 people from the region and ME! Went off to the filming of these, called 'The Big Photo' in Hull today, and have just got back.

Will feature lots of cheering, arm waving, sweeping camera shots of the group from above using (what do you call them? Booms? Jibs?) and people holding tiles in the air, which will form A) a map of the region and B) a huge picture of Helen, Paul and Peter! I was tile holder 114 BTW, and in the centre of the tile-holders will be Paul, Helen and Peter!

There will be a 'making of' article or two on Look North shortly, and the new adverts will be used on television, cinema, sides of buses, billboards etc... all over East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire from mid-October! Great fun and a brilliant experience.

Well, I had to double take this morning when a stagecoach bus passed me and I caught glimpse of a picture of Peter, Helen & Paul waving in an advertisement on the back of the bus.

I didn't get that much chance to study it Katherine, but I couldn't see you in the background, I hope you haven't been airbrushed out !!! It's a real shame if you're not on it, because what better claim than having your face on the back of a bus.
