I am capable of doing so, but I don't want to air a personal grievance in a public domain. It's not the right place for it - Private Messaging is, so that's where I choose to express it, so we can keep things as civil in here as possible.

This is a thread discussing aspects of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire regional television. Any other business, particularly personal grievances shouldn't be here.

Maybe Katherine sometimes posts some daft things, and her robust defence of the BBC against all criticism can be a bit OTT, but I do find it difficult to sympathise with the complaints of those posters here who claim to be taking the moral high ground yet obviously enjoy goading Katherine and provoking a - predictable - response from her, then complaining when the exact outcome they had wanted is achieved.

I wouldn't say I defend the BBC totally - there are parts of the corporation and its output that I can't defend, like all the makeover shows on it that squeeze time for more thought-provoking and innovative programming throughout the day.

The Newcastle Look North, provides poor coverage of the Lake District and Cumbria in general in favour of Tyneside-intensive reporting. We don't bother with it when we're there. I'm also certain that chidren's television presenters on CBBC boasted more a more refined and quieter tone of voice. And earlier this year, I did actually question the commitment of my own Look North to providing viewers with decent coverage of the Lincolnshire Show. I also pointed out to their website team that the Hull Look North's website wasn't particularly rolling in content or modernity; they still had the contact details updated in the site almost a month into working at Queen's Gardens!

Perhaps others on here exercise 'selective reading' when looking at my comments....

Interesting moment on the Hull version of Look North tonight. They kept forgetting to put the large 'Pictures from ITV Yorkshire' caption up on the football round-up, so ended up showing them with large 'Calendar Sport' graphics in the corner. They obviously just tape them off Sunday's Calendar News and Sport.

Over on the Leeds version and Tom Ingall did Breakfast this morning. That bloke did the weather. Not Liam Dutton, the other one who is a bit of a regular as a stand-in.

It all went a bit tits at 8am as well. We were treated to about half a minute of BBC London News, and I'm not sure if something was wrong with the lighting, but Tom's face looked decidedly dark... and I don't think he's been on the St Tropez. Wink

Chris Fawkes? Might be humorous to have him forecast on November 5th! Tom did Leeds lunch too.

Who was the woman doing the Breakfast bulletins today? I've never seen her before, although I thought she was very good - much more professional than a lot of their other stand-ins.

What did she look like? If she had a Scottish accent it'll have been Hannah Moffatt....

Or if it's the same person that was on the lunchtime, it'll have been Caroline Davis.

Nope - Leeds.
