Did everyone see the start of Look North. The opening titles were given a bollywood feel (a bit like the Bollywood BBC1 ident) also the theme music including the headline bongs was given an asian feel

Christa and Harry, along with Duncan and Sangeeta for Calendar 30 minutes earlier are live on the red carpet in Castleford at the Bollywood event

I'll post some caps later

Interesting idea. I notice that Sheffiled is on Small Hudson's map too! I think it would be better for LNH to drop its de facto coverage of north Norfolk, and include north Nottinghamshire-- Mansfield-Newark northwards as of Calendar South (strangely lots of people in Notts watch his Levyness !).

After all LNH pinches (sorry "shares") stories from BBC EMT, so it could do the same with LN Leeds with respect to S Yorks.

Apparently Hull failed to opt out at lunchtime today so at least Sky viewers got London news.

Are the BBC the media partners for the Bollywood awards? It's seriously taking over the news agenda at St. Peter's Square.

(I hope I have made that comment without sounding in any racist or xenophobic manner - which I have endeavoured not to.)

I agree that it'd be a good move to add Sheffield to the current Belmont region. AIUI there are parts of Sheffield which receive Belmont pictures already - at least I know my Dad gets Look Levy when he's staying in Sheffield on business.

I can imagine there would also be many people in South Yorkshire who would actually rather get their news from Hull, purely on the basis that it's not Leeds - and if Sheffield was given more prominence in the programme they'd be happier.

Surely most people in Hull would rather be kept up to date with stuff happening in Leeds than anywhere in East Midlands and Norfolk!!

I grew up in Hull, my parents are there still. My LN days are Harry Gration & Judith Stamper, but when I'm back these days I always find it odd that my folks have no clue what's happening in Leeds but do get stories from South of South Lincolnshire!!

Fair point actually Cool

I spy with my little eye, something beginning with W on this lunchtime's show. W ilberforce! To be fair it's only been two days since they last mentioned him. This programme is becoming a self-parody of a parody of a self-parody!

They had a little stroll around Queenyfit Gardens too, maybe looking for "members of the public" to interview about the local flora and fauna.

"Thanks very much indeed" and "thank you for being there" present and correct too.

While this is true, those in South Humberside ( Shocked ) would rather hear stories relating to much the rest of Lincolnshire.

Peter was standing Shocked
Shame it took Look North about three days to cover this story properly.

These comments about adding Sheffield, North Notts and Norfolk are being made as though these would be extras to the Belmont region. They aren't extras as most of these areas are covered by Belmont already as well as their other local region - for example here in Sheffield I can get both Emley Moor and Belmont and I've been to Worksop and Norfolk, both of which received his Levyness.

The idea of actually including stories about them is a good one though. It might make the 'news summary' a bit more comprehensive and news like as opposed to stories about the closure of Hull schools, some Hull pensioner being affected by the council etc.

I suppose we could always Leave It To Levy...

Its sad to say but they could cover the whole country and still come up with cr*p. It doesn't matter how busy the news region is, the editorial and management skills are not there to enable a properly produced programme with good production values

the 'outcry' over the content of look north hull seems to be limited to half a dozen members on this forum. the viewing figures remain acceptable.

methinks the campaign would be an embarrassing flop.
