Look Levy plumbed further into the depths of so called journalism tonight as it allegedly presented a member of BBC staff as a member of the public.

During the headline story about Kingston Communications being sold off, 'A member of the public' described as 'an internet user', was asked to comment on the reprocussions of the sale. The individual has a striking resemblance to a member of the open centre staff and the surroundings suspiciously like the interior of Queenies Court. Surprised

This would appear to break producer guidelines and once again is indicative of cheap, shoddy journalism and poor standards of judgement.

Not that Mr Betts or any other member of the BBC ULL management would admit to lowering themselves to read these forums, but perhaps they would like to comment Wink

Damn, I missed that last night, I had to go out. Thanks for filling me in. I note no name for this member of staff (allegedly)!?!

For some reason Look ULL have not put the latest edition of the programme on line - avoiding showing proof that they substituted a member of their own staff as a member of the public - and I understand have now admitted doing so claiming that their own staff are 'members of the public' Laughing

Wednesdays Peter Ego Show was full of strong words directed towards the East Riding PCT which have accepted the results of a public consulatation showing they have listened. Since there is no opportunity for his Leviness to be rude about this, they took an editorial decision to complain about the lack of space in the venue.

Thats two very suspect editorial decisions misinforming the public so far this week. How many before they look for a new editor Twisted Evil

You're enjoying this rather too much aren't you. I don't blame you either Laughing

I wonder what this evening's edition will bring? Rather than listening to Anne Davies (making me want to put a foot through my television), I think I'll watch Peeta and Paul "Hello young man" Hudson tonight for a laugh. Then again, you never know whether to laugh or cry! Wink

Todays Levy Letter has been withheld, is this another fallout of dodgy editorial decisions? Wink

It could almost be done on a sort of template Wink

it begins,

Hello, Its Peter here welcome to XXX Levy Letter I hope your day is going well. I hope you will be able to join me tonight at half past six as usual.

Then substitute the following depending on the day of the week,

A very busy programme tonight...
We'll have all the days news stories as always...
Paul will have the weather,

You get the general idea. Some blue rinser will have written in about a missing dog from Hezzle Roaad and there tends to be a pointless little editorial bit about some non descript item that has not even made it on to Radio Bumblesides soap box (where many of the stories originate and why Lincoln tends to miss out so much).

Its cutting edge stuff, bringing the BBC closer to the community and the community closer to the BBC - the latest buzz word coz its in the new charter. Rolling Eyes

There's also normally a few tabloid or media type stories summarised along with a dodgy opinion

Yeah, he copies a little bit of a story out of the Daily Mail/Express and then adds his opinion.

I'll copy and paste one one day (for some reason I still have it delivered to work to read at lunchtime).
