Can you imagine the OUTRAGE that would be shown on this forum if Look North ditched almost all their programmes for a week in order to send Crista, Peter and Paul Hudson on a jolly to America.

We would never hear the end of it!

Yes because we would be paying for it wouldn't we? Laughing Although I'd be happy if my Licence Fee paid for a one-way ticket for Levy Wink Least it would be easier for him to stay orange in Florida Very Happy

Strange though it may seem, we also pay for ITV, indirectly.

Yes true enough!

ITV could justify the Calendar jolly by saying it came from advertising revenue-- and the BBC wouldn't really be able to use that excuse!

Very interesting set of minutes are available on the BBC freedom of information website. Does anyone on the forum know of anyone who is a member of the BBC Trust audience council?

Maybe they all come from Hull which explains the editorial decisions and general state of the region Laughing

There are only two sets of documents published, do other areas have these fan clubs?

If they're doing a load of promotion for Disneyland, and giving away a prize to go there, I'd be very surprised if the entire trip wasn't paid for by Disney.

Confirmed sighting of Dickie Bird on Look Leeds tonight, not in the studio plugging his book though.

Indeed, I wouldn't be surprised if it was all paid for Disney Laughing

I'm very disappointed. No transcript of what he said?! We're losing our touch on this thread. Laughing

He didn't say "Chree-ster" or "bo-o-ok" so I didn't think it counted Smile

It was a report disguised as a trail for that historical documentary on a Yorkshire cricketer tonight.

Any excuse for a Dickie fix, I suppose.

Look Levy plumbed further into the depths of so called journalism tonight as it allegedly presented a member of BBC staff as a member of the public.

During the headline story about Kingston Communications being sold off, 'A member of the public' described as 'an internet user', was asked to comment on the reprocussions of the sale. The individual has a striking resemblance to a member of the open centre staff and the surroundings suspiciously like the interior of Queenies Court. Surprised

This would appear to break producer guidelines and once again is indicative of cheap, shoddy journalism and poor standards of judgement.

Not that Mr Betts or any other member of the BBC ULL management would admit to lowering themselves to read these forums, but perhaps they would like to comment Wink

What strikes me as really incompetent is that in a multimillion pound internet cafe open centre they could not find a real internet user to interview. It just appauling how amateur the place has become Rolling Eyes

Damn, I missed that last night, I had to go out. Thanks for filling me in. I note no name for this member of staff (allegedly)!?!
