In fairness, there was a story in Lincoln as well but this was a bit of a cock-up. The Hull coverage seemed to be recorded, so I imagine they only had one truck and decided to put it in Lincoln. Given the short distance, they could take their chances with the Hull locals in the early hours and walk/drive the tapes from the Hull count back to Queens Court. Disappointing there was nothing from the East Riding count - it always seems to be missed out.

I don't know why they didn't leave Iredale in the studio - having two reporters in Lincoln so they could go live from the balcony to the floor seemed a bit pointless.

Hilton Spratt won our competition for name of the night, though.

Lukk Nuuurth Ull seemed to have straightened its act up for this evening, in its coverage of Lincolnshire's and East Yorkshire's elections (no Norfolk of course).

Levy must be reading this thread: Two "stong words"-- and a "it's not good enough" to Paul today Laughing

The East Riding got 15 seconds despite a third more people live there than in Hull.

Highlight of the programme had to be when Levy was rude to the new Boston councillor. He accused the guy of only having one policy and asked him how they were going to run the schools only to be told that was the job of the county council.

Once again proof that contrary to BBC ULL's protestations LEVY IS NOT A TRAINED JOURNALIST.

I hope that is now clear Mr Betts, not that anyone from BBC ULL admits to reading this forum of course Wink

True enough, not enough about the EROY council elections. Incidentally:
Population for Kingston-upon-Hull City: 268,500
Population of East Riding council area: 316,800

Those figures from the 1990s, but I don't think the population will have crept up much since then (or maybe it has... I'll leave that to Levy).

I also agree with you about the Boston Councillor. If Levy had a journalistic knowledge about his patch, he would know that Boston Borough Council isn't a unitary authority, and therefore Lincs County Council look after the schools!! Even I know that, and I'm a div. It's just simply not good enough is it?

Speaking of Mr Hudson, I noticed his wife made an appearance on Lukk Nuuurth Ull. Investigating ghostly goings on at Hull Station; I don't know about ghosts, but there were a few zombies wandering on the platforms Wink Strong words, strong words

Sadly no sign of Dickie Turd on LNH, but the arty Linda Barker is due an appearance. Unless she's been swallowed up by a sofa.

Thanks for being there.

Now if any of them had any local or journalistic knowledge instead of this pointless nonsense they would investigate why the underground toilets on Hull station closed in favour of a rather shabby woodern shed affair and in addition wether there was any truth in the alleged report of an 'incident' connected to a relative of a well known political figure Confused:

Furthermore there are more important stories connected with the redevelopment of the Train & Bus station and St Stephens development in Hull - such as why the contracts had no penalty clauses for the overun of the Ferensway road closure and how many businessess have closed or been substantially hit by the ensuing mess. Does any of this appear on Look ULL or the politics show? Has this anything to do with the BBC & Hull City Council big screen affair?

The BBC, wot we don't do is journalism (not in ULL anyway)

I think his Levyness was rude to a councillor about Ferensway, but it was all from the point of view of the council not doing enough to help traders. I seem to remember a carpet shop and a takeaway getting several mentions.

Don't suppose you'd care to elaborate on the toilets story...? Perhaps not in public.

Good points there. I should imagine the underground toilets were shut because of junkies (in other words we're only prepared to fund a couple of shabby toilets for which we will charge for use, before you know it). Something to do with John Prescott no doubt Surprised Wink

You don't work for Calendar or Ull Daaairly Maaairl do you Troggles Wink ? You would never guess that KUH Council is the worst performing council in the country (or was) from Look North Hull would you?

I can honestly say I do not work for the Hull Daily East Riding Mail rag nor Calendar Razz

Laughing Arty photos of the weather, get the terminology right Wink

Of course his Levyness likes going to church choirs, because he is a celestial figure: Confer this masterpiece

Probably explains why Hull has the lowest church attendance rates in the country (reputedly).

Shock horror - his Levyness isn't going to be on Look North Hull tonight as he's at an awards ceremony. Instead we had at lunchtime, and should have at teatime, some man called Tim who didn't do bad at all even though he did seem to have a dodgy angle at looking at the camera. In fact the lunchtime bulletin was pretty good with news content from quite a wide range of areas across the region.

It was Tim Iredale presenting tonight's Look North Hull

He wouldn't find this a problem, he used to read the news from time to time on Calendar

He didn't do badly either.

How on earth did Look North Hull win 3 awards? Don't think they said who was giving out the awards - was it a BBC regions thing?

Exclamation ITS NOT GOOD ENOUGH WARNING Exclamation

Tonight his Leviness will be talking to a North Lincolnshire council officer about the Scunthorpe bin collection episode and why rubbish remains uncollected.

How many, "Well theres the camera; what have you got to say to our viewers tonight and its not good enough is it really's" will we have tonight. Shocked

P.S. for some reason the forum seems to automatically blank out Scunthorpe?
