Whats more if the reporter had any local knowledge she would know that the particular woods in which she was standing are famous for dogging Surely a far more interesting story.
Strong word there, strong words.
How do
you
know about the dogging in those woods-- that's what I want to know Troggles?
It's been good to have you there
I just happened to be passing and...
Have to agree about the use of statistics. Completely misleading. As for Hull Royal Infirmary being clean - they must have given plenty of notice that they were coming so they could give Mrs mop a whizz round.
Health services in Hull & East Riding are in a hell of a mess and everyone knows it. We now seem to have got to the situation where BBC ULL doesn't want to upset the health service in the same way it won't tackle the local council. They are S;:t scared that the Big Screen debarcle comes back to bite them. Its gone very quiet just how much it cost cash strapped Hull City Council to buy it
Now there is a bit of journalism and just in time for the elections too:?
Given that the BBC clearly isn't averse to having cumbersome region names (see "BBC North East & Cumbria" and "BBC Lincolnshire & East Yorkshire" (as the Hull region was known as at one brief stage)), why can't the branding of the Leeds region be "BBC Yorkshire & North Midlands"?
After all, they tend to
say
"...and the North Midlands" in the verbal announcements, don't they? And the portion of Derbyshire, in particular, that they cover is more than "a bit" (As much as 50%? Or perhaps even more than that???), and therefore surely the region shouldn't have such a "Yorkshire only"-implying name????

Just for reference, Emley Moor (plus relays) covers about of third of Derbyshire-- as well as parts of north Notts too. Confer this very arty map.
Why shouldn't his comments be given a decent reply? We're all licence fee payers, which in essence is a tax for services, and as we live in a democracy, we have the right to demand that these resources are used in an efficient and cost effective way - something Look North Hull is sadly lacking to do.
Hi Alf! Been busy disuading the Scots from voting SNP and passing some exams to get further up the career ladder (lifelong learning shouldn't be this long!). Always make time for Calendar though.
Just as an aside, my wife's family live within touching distance of Crosspool, and still recieve (thankfully) the West version of Calendar. I'm guessing this is an issue for Freeview customers. I can see the reuniting of Calendar by Christmas, the need for seperate editions is being eroded by the 'junk' being bilged from Hull - no need to break up the region, what was being done before (with the opts) worked just fine.

...no need to break up the region, what was being done before (with the opts) worked just fine.
The new Calendar arrangements haven't really "broken up" the region.
After all, there were
3
sub-regions before, but now there's only
2
. So the whole Calendar region is actually generally
less
sub-regional than before, in that sense.
And isn't the 6pm show literally the only split edition now? Whereas a couple of the shorter bulletins (mid-morning and lunchtime, or something(?)) were also sub-regional before.
The former mixture of pan-regional and sub-regional bulletins across the course of the day (including the sub-regional "bit" within the 6pm show) probably added up to 20-30mins worth of "sub-regional" output per weekday.
The only real difference now is that the "30 minutes of sub-regional, per day" is all in one place (i.e. 6pm-6:30pm), rather than in 10-minute(ish) bits and bobs across the day.
