Ah, sanity has finally prevailed on the forum and somebody else has twigged this ridiculous waste of money!

The region is too small to sustain a sub news region. If it's taking 200 people to put the show on in Leeds, just how many is it taking in Hull?

At this point, Katherine will whittle on about how good the BBC is. But let's face it. She is a BBC junkie. Unable to communicate with anyone else who has a different view to hers, unwilling to listen to reason and prehaps, more worryingly, one of those people who pesters people with meaningless questions regarding the miniscule details of the programme, unnaturally swooning over the (married) presenters. Let's get a grip here, find something else in your life, or even, get a job!

Actually, from what I understand, the value for money in that region is very good compared to many others...

She scares me too. Who else is scary? I think ITV News' Juliet Bremner is - she shouts at you all the time. Makes me want to hide behind the sofa.

BBC Breakfast's weather presenter, Carol Kirkwood, is very scary - especially the way she shouts "Gooooood Moooooorning" with that 'all-too-gleeful-with-a-hint-of-psycho' uber-happy smile which I find utterly terrifying at that time of day

Well, report-sharing between Hull and Leeds for starters - to ensure that no money is wasted by producing two different reports for the same story.....

InTune, court order, can you help here?

surely if so many reports are shared, then it'd save money to take the leeds show and *radical idea* have a short opt out towards the end of the show for easy yorks & lincs specific stories?

The Hull region is great value for money due to the fact that the minimal amount of money is spent on the newsgathering for the first 5 minutes of the show.

Then no expense spared for the last 25 minutes which is filled with fluff and plenty of "human interest" stories...oh and not to forget the fact that you can get the newspaper headlines too - just to reiterate they're a regional news programme.

Whether the "good value for money" line is still true with their rather expensive internet cafe, bus and building is another matter...

The Internet Cafe provides visitors with 30 minutes' free Internet use....

With all this talk about whether or not Hull can fill a programme, has anyone asked if Leeds can fill their time. Guess which personality they had a 3 minute feature on tonight followed by an interview in the studio?

None other than Dickie Bird AGAIN!!!

In my opinion The Hull show is well presented, looks good, shows imagination and puts in the effort, instead of yet another Dickie Bird interview about nothing.

Yes - and it's rather nice that a broadcasting corporation seems committed, regardless of programming format or satisfying perceived idealist regional news content to providing more localised news, instead of pulling out of cities like Nottingham for example.... this trend-bucking is something that should be applauded, not derided....
