Hull couldn't remove the desk as Peter can't work without either autocue or desk monitors - come to think of it it wouldn't make any difference to the quality anyway.

This is chronic, Christa & Harry in that awful padded cell effect studio, with those tacky interlocking seats like a dentists waiting room. The worst set in a long time, at least Levy Live has a decent sofa, coffee table & window.

The chairs aren't new, it's the lack of table that is. Harry looks particularly uncomfortable

No doubt the focus groups have trotted out the same old 'creates a barrier to viewers' line

Totally agree on both fronts! It's gone from bad to worse @ Leeds - Hull is the best of a bad bunch.

I remember being genuinely impressed with the Leeds studio when they moved to the new building. It looked modern and fresh. Now it really looks terrible.

The BBC seems to have an obsession with messing about with things that don't need changing, and making them look sh*t.

I still don't understand why they put in all those LED colour changing panels, and then just left them on white. Has anyone ever seen them a different colour?

They could have done the same thing with some flurries and perpex for a fraction of the cost. Like this but with more frosting:

Is that the bar in Sheffield Hallam Uni's union building? If so then they look amazing in real life.

Good catch... They used to look OK (not quite the colour changing backbar the architects promised), but all of the power supplies for the dimmers have now broken and burnt out the DMX boxes, so they don't dim anymore. We managed to repair one, which means we can still dim the one in the phoenix bar.

Plans are afoot for a whole new LED based system in the Eye Bar.
