General ITVplc trends would suggest that they wouldn't have a totally separate studio/set for the footy programme if they can possibly help it, so am am inclined to suspect that it's a redressed Calendar set.
Seeing as all Calendar News short bulletins are pan-regional, presumably on any given day, one of the two studios/sets only gets used once a day (i.e. for its particular sub-regional variant of the 6pm programme). Well, there'd be no reason for the various pan-regional short bulletins to keep swapping studios across the course of one day, now would there?
Therefore, the extreme re-dressing needed to give the result pictured above would not be a great headache for crew. It's not like it has to be back to normal by 10:30pm that night or anything - they've got until at least Friday afternoon to "un-footy" the set again!

What do people think about the Soccer Night set? Does it look to be a seperate set, or one of the Calendar ones very cleverly redressed?

In other news, BBC Radio Leeds' Clive Settle appeared as a guest on the late Look North. First time he's been on TV as far as I'm aware, so listeners got to put a familar voice to a face
Any particular reason for Clive's appearance?

He was telling Ian all about the storm damage from a West Yorkshire perspective

It did strike me as odd that the new Calendar (South/East) had a "window" right from launch, whilst North/West didn't introduce one to coincide.
South/East seems to have been using a fair amount of variation between "window" and graphics on their projector.
Was that just a comprise, whilst the other studio/set was still being windowless, I wonder? (i.e. so that the South/East "window " didn't seem quite so out of place, in relation to pan-regional bulletins) In which case, the South/East "window" might now become more permenant?
Or alternatively, perhaps both versions of the programme will now have a variable "window"/graphics scenario?
I think the Central West scenario is best. It's a "window" 99% of the time, and only lapses into illustrative grahics for really major stories (e.g. when the fox-hunting debate was going on) and/or special features (e.g. ITV's Britain On The Move campaign, etc)
