Worth noting that nothing's changed in regards to my Telewest setup here in Rotherham. I still get the "North" (which used to broadcast the West programme) version of the programme on 103 and I get the new "South" version on "ITV Sheffield" on 114. (This used to be the version that carried the Calendar South opt.)

Have to say ITV Sheffield is very poor quality - it's 4:3 with widescreen programmes broadcasting in 14:9 and has ghosting - I assume this is just a re-broadcast of the analogue signal from the Sheffield transmitter?

Your not kidding I hated the Telewest signal, its much better on Sky even if I have to manually tune it in!

And still no sign of Gemma Calleja, meaning we have to put up with Little Miss Anti-Depressant Hodgson... I much prefer Calleja's no nonsense style.

The way Carolyn goes from being smiley when introducing her bulletins to a serious pose when it cuts to her in close up is scary.

Not as scary as Jason McCartney though.

It'll be interesting to see who they will have presenting on Fridays/holidays now the B team are hosting throughout the week

Maybe connected with that. Isn't Nicola Sands due back soon?

I had an email back from Calendar explaining the provision of news in Sheffield:

Quote:

Thank you for your email. South Yorkshire stories appear in both Calendars because traditionally different parts of the county have received the programme from the Emley, Belmont and Sheffield transmitters.

The Sheffield office therefore supplies stories for both programmes. Calendar also has newsrooms/offices in Bradford, Grimsby, Hull, Lincoln and York and a team of staff also work from home in various parts of the region.

The East Riding is covered by the ‘South’ programme.

Kind regards

All they said in reply to ^ was:

It isn’t a newsroom as such - it’s an office which is used by our Bradford based staff.

Hmm thanks for that... I do wonder why they need an office in Bradford given the proximity to Leeds, I'd have thought if they wanted a second office in West Yorkshire somewhere like Huddersfield or Halifax which is more remote from Leeds might have been more useful.

In other news, BBC Radio Leeds' Clive Settle appeared as a guest on the late Look North. First time he's been on TV as far as I'm aware, so listeners got to put a familar voice to a face
