God - that blonde woman doing the 'news round up' looks happy!! She looks as though she is about to burst into tears.
If I had to watch her I think my wrists would be slit by the end of the programme.

So Calendar is back in the studio, can you spot any differences, does it look notably smaller?

Well for a start the front plasma is in a different location and will no longer be able to be used for say the sport, as the main presenters will be sat in vision behind.
Michelle now gets to sit down to do the News Round-up, whether that is due to a lack of space to stand I don't know
A lot of camera shots seem to be coming from the right, suggesting not much space straight on or to the left

Ah yes the front plasma seems to be in a now awkward position, it looks that space there has now vanished, presumably to the other side of the cameras is the new studio?

The lighting seems terrible is that studio aswell, not much better than Central Wests. Studio seems very washed out.
BS
They obviously only ever had the pillar and extra plasma just because they could (what with having an unusually large rendition of the generic set, and all). Now that they've got a much more modest/standard sized rendition, what's the blooming point of them retaining that pillar (etc) bit? There's not enough room to warrant it being worthwhile now. They're obviously trying to pretent the studio hasn't shrunk, but surely even "average viewers" aren't fooled...

Are all three "part-time" Calendar sub-regions still all in existence? Will anyone be mourning the loss of the (seemingly unnecessary IMHO) "South" sub-region, when the changes come into force?
YO
Don't know about it being unneccessary, without Calendar South they would hardly cover any news from South Yorkshire. If anything Calendar South needs to be more available since I've switched from cable to sky I can't stand the West Yorkshire dominated newsroundup

IS
Mixed feelings really. The South opt does do the news that generally wouldn't make it anywhere near the main programme - but then having said that, I can get both West and South flavours of Calendar and sometimes the stories during the roundup are very similar often just in a different order sprinkled with a token South Yorkshire item. It seems to vary depending on how busy a news day it is.

I know absolutely nothing about how built-up or not Lincolnshire is. But would I be right in assuming that it's a predominantly rural county or something?
What I'm getting at is that I'm guessing that the BBC Hull region is relatively sparsely populated etc, so will never ever be very news-rich? If so, then one reason why The Peter Levy Show doesn't mention much outside of East Yorkshire, is because there actually isn't much to talk about?
And if I lived in north Norfolk, I'm sure I'd prefer to pick-up Anglia. (Does Anglia News editorially include ALL of Norfolk, or do they regard the north as strictly Calendar's problem?)
