A nice bit of chevron action on Calendar tonight
http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/ytvvan.jpg
It looks like the TV exhibit at the National Museum of.... has been relaunched, for thr first time in 20 years. Gone are the Central cake vision mixing and Nick Whitchell with Breakfast News exhibits!

I suppose they can't really get away with a 1983 video explanation by Richard Whiteley of how Calendar is made anymore.

What a great phone-in this is tonight, all old fogeys telling her how much she'll be missed, and Alex just going through the motions pretending to be interested.
These pensioners are staging a revolt, they don't like change and say they won't be listening to Radio Leeds anymore.
Alex can't say where she's going (although staying in the BBC) but from her website it appears they wouldn't commit to the late show beyond September, http://www.alex-hall.co.uk/index2.html refers.
Alex changed when she started flogging mortgages on daytime TV.

Not sure why she can't say where she's going. It's not like she's moving to commercial radio.
Ian White was on earlier, doing the geeky bit, explaining how at one time the late show used to be pan-regional, broadcast sometimes from Manchester or Newcastle.
She doesn't seem to be mentioning who is replacing her either, although I presume it'll be individual shows for each station
These oldies on the phone don't seem to like Martin Kelner either!

Haven't listened to Alex in a while, but went to listen tonight, and found she doesn't do Radio Humberside anymore, when did that change ? Had to resort to the web. I take it she's not going to tell who's taking over ?

The problem is that the BBC regional management want a younger audience so they won't be bothered about the old dears moaning about her going. They already dumped the programme on Bumbleside for a younger line up till 1.00am
