TROGGLES
In a classic example of why the new region doesn't work Look North Hull didn't mention the Yorkshire Show at all, East Yorkshire is still in Yorkshire and those who live there deserve the news which concerns them. Instead once again the obsession with that lump of concrete and metal spanning the Humber rears its head. Its 25 years old, it in debt to the tune of £250 million, its far too expensive to cross, an edifice to Barbara Castle's mad transport plan and its a bridge, nothing more, just a bridge.
Can we have some proper news please?

Didn't think Craven strayed too far from BBC Brum thesedays!(I know the programme is called 'Countryfile'!)

I remember around the time Mike McCarthy left, there were rumours going around that John Craven was in the running to present Look North. Of course we actually got Harry - but could be interesting in a parallel universe!

Calendar did extended items about the Humber Bridge as well.

Anyway, when was the last time Paul Hudson appeared on Look North, he's been on holiday more than he's been working so far this year

What does everyone think about Jon Mitchell's section on Calendar thesedays, with his jokes during he forecast etc

I heard a suggestion he did Channel 5's lunchtime forecast one day last week... any idea if that's true!?

I unexpectedly caught some of this today, as I ventured into Boston when they were having a party in the park with bands and what have you.

Seems to be quite good for an RSL, just playing normal rock/indie music and live stuff from the park (when I listened anyway) and no disadvantaged kids making a rap show to be seen.

They claim to be listenable 14 miles away from the centre, but it's more like 4. Can't get in Skegness anyway.

I wonder if Katherine is fronting a show on it at anytime.

Anyway it's just cool to have your RDS say STUMP

I hope Paul's back tomorrow. If I see Lisa again I will scream.

Happy Birthday to YTV's Jon Mitchell. He seemed to be in his element on the stream railway on tonight's Calendar didn't he?

I know one thing for sure, my nephew would've been jealous if he saw his Thomas The Tank Engine cake! lol

He did seem genuinely excited!! I think his sections on Calendar are quite entertaining, he has the personality to carry it off!

Well Jon's on holiday this week so Calendar viewers get a rare chance to watch Jo Blythe instead

Over on Look North and tonight's programme was presented by Harry Gration and Danni Hewson, which is a rarity

There was a funny report with Harry about the Leeds Festival, with Harry pretending to know all about the bands that are going to be on!

I don't think there's been any mention yet about Emley Moor being off throughout the daytime this week.

As well as mentions during Calendar and Look North, the announcer also explained all about it over the ident at 7.30pm

The viewing figures for the Emley opt outs during today's daytime news must have been low. I know Sky is uneffected obviously, how about Freeview?

AFAIK, DTT should not be affected.
