It's only the 1800 programme that's being split, so it's not a full service.
I imagine that like the two Tyne Tees 1800 programmes, they will share many/most packages, just presented in a different order and with a different emphasis.
Obviously the new studio/set is going to be a key investment, but apart from seperate presenter(s) for the east programme and studio crew, I don't suppose it will require many more people or resources.
It's a bit like those local papers with mutliple editions where the front page varies but most of the inside pages are identical.
