Does Look North (Hull) exisist at all bulletin times yet, or are they still just 18:30 and 22:25?

If they're not full-time already, when will they be?

Yes it does - firstly we had a 10-minute sub-opt within the Leeds show. Emley Moor got Harry and Christa throughout the show, while those receiving their pictures from 'TF218836' (Gavin doesn't like us mentioning the mast name) got Clare Frisby, Helen Philpot or Blair Jacobs about 5 minutes into the show for about ten minutes before handing back to Harry and Christa.

After about a year or so with the sub-opt, we got our own 18:30 show from a small studio in Hull presented by Peter Levy and Helen Fospero, and we also got our own 22:25 programming. Weekends (and breakfasts?) followed and finally, afternoons and lunchtimes were added most recently.

Now Look North experts don't shout at me and sorry if this has been asked already...

Just checking out the new Look North studios on Sky digital and noticed that the weather man Paul Hudson appeared to be LIVE on both Look North's with only about a minute in between - surley one is pre-recorded right!?

I work in television and even I can't work that one out!

On a different note the banter betwen Hudson and Levy seemed to be entertaining - do they do that a lot?

I didn't see the programme, it's a tight turnaround but possible surely? Or, they may have precorded the two way between the presenters as well?

I'm surprised you dont know this Katherine~ when Look North(Hull) relaunched at Queens Garden's (June '04) Weekend bulletins and Afternoon updates started and then about 2 weeks ago Breakfast and Lunchtime bulletins started.

Often at teatime the Belmont forecast CAN be pre-recorded, but it appears halfway through the show so Paul might have time between the end of the Hull forecast and the beginning of the Leeds forecast to get ready....

Regarding the lunchtimes, I believe that the Hull forecast is always pre-recorded... and the banter between Peter and Paul is on every day!

I hadn't realised weekends had gone seperate, I thought they were still pan-regional. I must have missed that one.

And at lunchtime it looks like Leeds's weather is live now, but when the Hull programme started it was Hull's weather which was live. At teatime they are both live as Paul appears on the Hull one at about 6.45pm. I presume Lisa is recorded at breakfast time in Hull

I believe that Hull is now considered a "full" news region now - so all regional news opts (though not Politics Show and Inside Out) slots are split between Leeds and Hull.

I wouldn't be surprised if London were Hull's fall-back (now or soon) rather than Leeds (even though the Hull opt-out gear is still partially based in Leeds I believe)

Despite the new buildings in Leeds and Hull - Hull cannot opt unless Leeds have opted first.

So would that make Hull still a sub-opt of Leeds, despite having totally seperate programming?

Not really. It's just to do with circuitry. Far cheaper to have a line from Hull to Leeds than a line from Hull to London. All regions work on a complex network like this. Nottingham routes to Birmingham etc etc. The BBC is spending your money wisely!!

Not sure on that news desk. they look a bit too sort of well it is like their chemisty together will be split apart. I prefer the oldm newsdesk and sofa thing. yes i do like the new backdrop and the television screen.
But still think they should have the old newsdesk and sofa thing
