There's some gremilins in the works on tonight's Calendar

The 'text' slide was stuck on screen for about 2 minutes, even after they had moved on and gone into the next report

The sound was ok and the pictures returned but not before we saw a brief glimpse of North East Tonight Surprised

As seen in another thread Calendar at 6pm is being split into 2 editions. Any views here on likely presenters?

Gaynor Barnes and Paul Burland for the East version perhaps? Maybe they could poach Ian White to be the main host in the West, with Duncan going to do the East?

Also it looks like the sub-regional 10.55am and 1.10pm bulletins and seperate Calendar South will be dropped

"Now on ITV1 the new Calendar East presented by Helen Fospero and Blair Jacobs!"

Will the New Calendar East come from Hull or Leeds? I can see them always coming second best for interviews and on the spot reports on the programme if they remain Leeds based trying to compete with an East Yorkshire based Look North.

I bet they are cacking their pants at Queens Gardens (am I allowed to say that?)

Oh come on, get real. Helen Fospero has gone to better places. I very much doubt she will step down to doing a subregional programme.

Especially as she twice turned down the opportunity to present Look North (Hull) four years ago because she wanted to work in London and only agreed in the end becuase it was an opportunity to get back to full time presenting.

A very unusual situation that the BBC do all the time, but is rare on ITV Weather was that it was presented from an OB with the presenter in a box. Here's Jon Mitchell

Has Calendar ever presented from outside Kirkstall Road like this before?

It was really nice to see that.

Tonight's Calendar was promoted as being on at 6.25pm tonight rather than 6.30, it actually started half way between the two, and was with Gaynor and Duncan

It reminds me of all those years when Calendar was billed as starting at 5.55, despite the fact that it actually started at around a minute to six!

Christa Ackroyd was flying solo on Look North at 7.15
