Is Peter Levy ever going to refine his interview technique ? It's just unnecessarily antagnostic and hostile. Somebody should tell him there's no point trying to be Paxman when interviewing an ice cream seller.

To quote the man himself, "It's just not good enough is it ? "

What's wrong with the weather graphics tonight ? Are they running on a 286 processor or something ? The animations and transitions were very sluggish.

That would mean admitting defeat and it'll need more than the present mess to get rid of it. BBC EY & L is a separate region in its own right now and to get rid of it would go against everything that is promised in the charter renewal proposals.

What happened to the late night bulletin last night? We got the sound from Hull over pictures from London (on Satellite at least). I didn't see the whole bulletin because I flicked over during a break in Desperate Housewives...

I notice Peter has a new backdrop, they've moved the sofa back in front of the screen so no more pink and purple panels behind.

The backdrop looked like Hull marina, don't know why they didn't stick with the Humber Bridge, which is more iconic really.

YTV doesn't seem to have a weather sponsor at the moment. The last couple of nights they've used a generic weather sting from the old Granada Media Group weather graphics.

Because an audience survey found that people didn't like the Humber Bridge (CGI-ed) as the backdrop

Or they could not be bothered to go much further than across the road to get new backdrop picture. Wonder what the good folk of Lincolnshire think of the new look Look North? Now it has a new set, or to be more accurate changed it back to how it was in the first place, perhaps its time for more innovations? How about a competition to decided the name of the programme Razz

They say it's rubbish, and to go back to the 'coloured panels'

They also say 'us folk in south Lincs feel left out, and what about those poor sods in Kings Lynn?'

Indeed, although without the old "Yorkshire Weather" voiceover.

Strangely as well as dropping the Balsen sponsorship, they've also dropped the generic ITV weather sting, previously they still used it.

I wonder who we'll have next, let's hope it's not Carcraft again? or Veet off of Emmerdale!

I think the ITV weather sting is there to provide clear separation between the programme and the weather, in order to prevent any concerns of 'sponsorship within a news programme' - hence why you don't get it before the weekend standalone weather bulletins.

When there's no sponsor, I suppose they don't consider that it's needed. However it would seem more logical to me to use the ITV weather sting on its own instead of the old GMG weather titles.
