I saw the studio at the 3.20 news update and the word to describe it is 'different'. It has several circular sofas, only big enough for a person to sit on, which surround a brown, wooden circular desk, with a white circle in the middle. The projection screen is still the same for the weather as are the titles. Either side of the presenter, on the main camera facing them, are two red panels and the backdrop is the usual white/grey backdrop of the wall. Looks more conversational than anything - I bet it would be suitable for The Peter Levy Show.

Indeed and it reminded me of the old self-opt studio at Woodhouse Lane
Here's a wide shot of the new set.

I like the new set actually. I was never really that keen on the one introduced in September 2004. IMO it looked less corporate, but this seems more similar to the other regions.

Looked like some sort of homage to LWT Pres to me.

On an unrelated note, is Christa starting every third piece with "well, you know" starting to grate with anyone else?

Notice that glass top desks with computers inside seem to be firmly out of favour now. Instead going with the laptop on the desk

I've only just managed to get a proper look at the new set on this evening's programme, and I'm sorry, but I think it's hideous.
The white/grey lit panels look so drab when there's nothing else in the background, the red panel looks wonky, and as for the desk... where did they get that tacky monstrosity from? It's even uglier than Look East's giant toadstool desk - at least that doesn't have a very unconvincing, cheap 'wood effect' covering. What have they used? Fablon?
The previous look wasn't that great, but it wasn't that bad. I really see no reason why they've changed to something which wouldn't have looked out of place in the early 80s.
