The BBC is an equal oppertunities employer so they have to consider all applicants - its a bit of a risk relocating to Hull for what could be such a short appointment. These people would need a rugged constitution and have no hang ups about having no news in a news programme. They would need to prove they have experience in producing bland and insipid programming however they have an excellent asset in the programme presenter.
He or she would also inherit a team of pretty decent reporters, journalists, VJs etc - who have already indicated clearly that they want to work on a much stronger programme.
