Things are going to ge worse. Management now think that Lincolnshire is still under represented so a massive effort is being made to find stories from the county. Radio Lincolnshires listening figures are appauling at the moment so to pacify head of Regions they are emphasising the TV figures & promoting that.
There is also some top secret - oops - training going on in Hull for lots of technical BBC staff. Apparently London thinks that Hull is such an unlikely place to find any innovation that they can hide all the 'new' developments there. Result everything else suffers.

The main story on tonights Look North featured the prospect of the Red Arrows moving from RAF Scampton.
Peter Levy, Red Arrows, Lincolnshire, Look North - I expect Katherine is still giddy.

Spot on about Calendar outgunning Look North. Calendar is consistently excellent - great reporting and good use of the ITV regional news look. Look North sends me to sleep, there's onle so many times I can watch Ian White and Paul Hudson at lunchtime chatting and just generally insulting each other, it's tedious.

What ever happened to the competition for a new name for Look North Hull? Did it ever amount to much?
And whilst here, does anyone know where Katherine is? Not heard from her for a long time.

The head of local and regional programming, Helen Thomas, was said to be gutted that they could not change the name. Apparently it transpires that there was a late rally in support of the Look North name which boosted it to over 50%. What is worse the editor of Look North (ex GMTV editor) Steve Punter is very pleased at the response that the whole affair generated. Much of this response ranged from negative to downright hostile with nasty phone calls to the main desk, rude messages on the infamous hotline and a number of eggs & flour thrown at Queens court's windows - now theres one that Calendar should have picked up.

What - all because some barely-watched regional news programe decided to consider changing its name? Are we quite sure about this?
