Interesting to hear they've made the toth travel snappier (I'm usually busy at the time it's on...), I'm not sure about trafficlink - certainly only hear David James on Radio Leeds, never anywhere else... The data's definitely trafficlink (have a listen round, you'll soon hear!), I'll try and find out!

You may only hear Dave James on Radio Leeds, but you hear Dave Lewellyn on other stations... both being the same person who works for Trafficlink!

Interesting. I remember a few years ago they used to have Kevin Stuart doing Radio Leeds travel, who I believe was using a false name, but then used to cross over to Kevin West for the motorways news (M62 queuing eastbound from 27 at Gildersome back towards 25 at Brighouse, the M1 is also slow northbound from 42 at Lofthouse back past 40 at Flushdyke) for some reason.

The travel news at weekends is also funny as they have an old sounding bloke doing it who definally minds the gap in the TOTH and struggles to find anything to report.

Real name being Kevin Leach... the good old "use your middle name as a surname" trick methinks.

On a different note, Mr Cockup was in attendance at BBC Leeds last night as they failed to opt out for Rugby League Raw. It was shown by Hull (albeit in 14:9) and by NE&C and North West. I thought the programme was played out from Leeds, but with it being 14:9 via Hull I wonder if Manchester played it yesterday? Hull opting without Leeds is also something of a novelty - isn't the opt switch for Belmont in Leeds still?

Since BBC Hull moved to Queenies court they are considered a stand alone region and have there own opt switch. It doesn't work properly which is why you get the stutter during the news opt. Officially its not thought a priority so its not been fixed - or if you want the truth, they can't fix it. There is a lot of new technology in Hull which is still being 'trialed' and a lot of it doesn't work properly. There have been some rather dramatic near misses in the last six months. One edition Look Hull North was within 30 seconds of not going on air recently . One lunch edition went off air due to an almighty power b##ls up. It took BBC1 off air on all feeds for 10 mins.
Should there be a problem in either Leeds or Hull there are contingency plans for a old style mix of news in which ever centre is working presented by one personality from each region.
Leeds seems to have fared better with all the new gear. They have not had half the gremlin problems that Hull has suffered

Thanks for that, I thought Leeds was still in the circuit to Belmont so that they didn't have to have someone in Hull to opt out for pan-regional stuff like the Politics Show and Inside Out.

I seem to recall the mix from whichever centre was operational scenario happenning a few months ago with pan-regional breakfast bullies from Hull, making a big thing of the "weather camera here in Hull"

Its all supposed to be automated Laughing Laughing Laughing
There is the debut today of the Politics show from Hull with the hugely expensive set.
Hardboard walls with paper laminate, some cheap fabric for new cushions & a borrowed coffee table!

Hadn't heard about that one, is a certain workaholic presenting that or have they got someone else in?

No they shipped kathy in. There isn't the money for two shows so its the big experiment.
But can you imagine it Levy and politics Exclamation

Question from Peter:
"Can you tell me what Yorkshire forward has done for this region, I mean its not done much, I mean what's it for, its not good enough is it really?",

Blank look from interviewee who hasn't a clue what the hell he's been asked or supposed to answer.

Peter:
That's one for us then!

There was no Look North with Harry Gration tonight. Instead viewers here in Yorkshire had to manage with BBC London News.

Very poor showing from BBC Yorkshire. Surely in this situation, Look North Hull (if that managed to go out) or BBC North West Tonight would be a better option with the presenter explaining what is going on.

Did the politics show go out in Yorkshire? Sounds like they could be having trouble after the opt failure last night as well

I didn't see it, but I did notice that The Super League Show was aired this morning on BBC2.

So did Look North Hull with Peter Levy go out as normal tonight then?

Sounds like a bit of a rum do, I wonder what the chances are that we'll see Claire Frisby in the morning

Erm, we got Ian White on Look North here, complete with health top story and then the Bulls returning to Odsal - watching through satellite.

Edit... and apology about the rugby league show last night, it's being repeated Tuesday 11.05pm (I think) for people who "missed it due to a technical fault". Ironic that people won't have seen the apology due to a technical fault.

Edit2... though I noticed on analogue there was no opt at the start of the Politics Show - we got BBC London then.
