With the possibility of the next Conservative leader & possible future prime minister David Davis making the headlines, Peters' guest tonight will be... Jon Culshaw, naturally!

I predict what will happen is Jon Culshaw will drop into his usual impressions throughout the interview and Peter will do a ridiculous over the top laugh as if he's never heard them before
Very sadly you were correct Rolling Eyes

She doesn't read the forum any more. She had a conversation with me a few days ago when she said that she'd moved on, and that she was getting fit and improving social life, etc. Paul Hudson thinks you're all a waste of time apparently.

Nothing to do with her view of the BBC being so biased and everyone on here disagreeing with her then? Like we care what Paul Hudson thinks anyway.

Anyone else notice how ITV News (national/local) appears to be getting lots of exclusives these days? Finally, people may realise that it's actually quite good, really.

They can't get people that far most if the 'interviews' have to be done via the screen as agents won't let thier personalities come to Hull - unless theya re in something at the theatre or live locally - which isn't many. There is more energy being spent on developing the open centre than on programming at present. There are plans to expand - which means knocking the place apart a year after building it. Due to a report saying that Hull has the lowest PC penetration in the country we must educate and inform... whatever happened to broadcasting? Shocked

Very Happy of all the stupid questions he has asked thats got to rank as one of the worst. The worst interview was with the Duchess of Kent mind numbingly, flesh creepingly appauling. A professional lady who knew how to conduct herself being interviewed by.. there just arn't the words. The weird thing is that they (management) know how much better Calendar has become. They know how bad he is but they live in a fluffy world of luvvie land on the third floor and won't listen.

When did he ask Dionne Warwick THAT?? Is it still available online? I need to see it now!!! Of all the idiocy---so you're a multi-millionaire international superstar and LA resident, would you consider Cleethorpes perhaps?

But hang on what was Dionne Warwick DOING on Look North Hull anyway -- did her people not warn her it's just Radio Humberside with a camera on it?

Admittedly Calendar has got better since they ditched the OB format, but ye gods, it's ALWAYS been better than the dross eminating from Look North Hull and - via the Belmont opt - has always provided more and better news coverage for that area.

Why do LN Hull insist on getting people on for Peter to "interview" about the news stories where something's gone wrong who aren't responsible for the cockup, in the knowledge that he's likely to try to have a go at them about something that isn't their fault.

For example the story about a lack of dentists tonight, they drag the MP for the area on, who happens to be a Tory, and he agrees that the situation isn't acceptable. What does Peter expect the MP, whose party isn't even in government, to be able to do?

Peter has always been very poor at this type of Paxman style interviewing, he just has a go at the guest over and over again, regardless of what the guest's answers actually are.

What do you expect really from a DJ turned presenter, this is probably why they have turned Look North Hull into a televised radio show

As annoying as it is the viewing figures are very high and getting higher. All the research shows a huge polarisation of the audience and unfortunately there are more blue rinses and 'peter luvvers' in the region than those who want a decent journalistic led news programme. The editor is considered as doing a remarkable job by English regions management - but theyr'e in Birmingham and don't have to watch it.
This coming year all BBC local news programmes have been given a target for audience share. Look Hull is far in excess of this target and is actually now being cited as a template for BBC news programming to acheive this. Think about it lots of 'Peters' all over the country Exclamation
