Well there you go then an ex GMTV editor, that explains the tacky quality of the show. I cant belive that a BBC regional news programme had a competition to change its name!

Much rejoicing in Hull. The Editor has resigned after a staff rebellion over his management style and programme content.

Staff now hoping the programme will improve - and actually have some local news in it, rather than endless 'celebrity guests' .

Perhaps some presentation changes too.

if this is true, I doubt it will make much difference.....the production and reporting staff may have 'just been following orders' (to an extent), but they have been putting this unutterable dross to air for the past umpteen months.

And the Duncan Norvell chat airing on the day when the far less-resourced ITV News/Calendar can unearth a genuine TV exclusive, with pictures, on Ian Huntley...... but in the screwed-up world of Look North journalists, this doesn't even warrant the shortest mention, and of far more import to viewers in the Hull region is clearly why the chase me man didn't end up presenting Blind Date (this was a discussion point during Peter's 5 minute simpering intreview) ..... ..how long have you got for the answer to that one

Linda Barker tomorrow folks...........

If there's anything worse than Look North Hull its the Levy Letters. They are just so sad, Peter doing banter with Paul in writing is just painful, as his him telling us his private life and his ridiculous feature items that he seems to be flogging daily. I hope you've all subscribed

I'm not sure he has gone, he was there last time I looked. He was brought from GMTV after the previous editor left as he was hired originally to overse the setting up of Look North from a cupboard at Radio Bumblealong and the move into the new building. They did not have a Head of local and regional programming then - or a region for that matter.
I would be very suprised if he was pushed. Look Hull is one of the most watched regional programmes in the UK both BBC & ITV, over a 30% share of the audience - yes I don't know why either but there we are.

Just caught the Anton interview and Levy managed to B****R that up he can't even ask a straightforward question without refering to a clipboard. The only reason he survives is becasue the old dears like him. BBC Hull don't have enough journalists to do news properly so they pad it with banter.

She doesn't read the forum any more. She had a conversation with me a few days ago when she said that she'd moved on, and that she was getting fit and improving social life, etc. Paul Hudson thinks you're all a waste of time apparently.

With the possibility of the next Conservative leader & possible future prime minister David Davis making the headlines, Peters' guest tonight will be... Jon Culshaw, naturally!
No doubt lots of, 'during the war stories', when I was a lad living in Hull and presenting the afternoon slot on Viking Radio, those were the days etc etc...

I predict what will happen is Jon Culshaw will drop into his usual impressions throughout the interview and Peter will do a ridiculous over the top laugh as if he's never heard them before
