They even played one to see if we liked it. Personally I found them awful, particularly the singing of the station name. They keep interrupting me in my car as well with news about the quiet bit of the M62

Slightly incestuous way of doing things isn't it... has the show come to that.

They should take Radio Leeds' jingles - one year on they still sound fab and fresh.

Incidentally, does anyone know who's made Radio Slumberside's jingles?

I don't know but I know that The Pulse have got a new package from IQ Beats, the same people as did Radio Leeds' new sound. They seem to be taking over all of West Yorkshire, who will be next!

The strength of the signal is getting ridiculous, I picked up BBC Radio Cleveland on the way to work in Bradford this morning!

well you are all WRONG with the name. It's going back to the three-letter variant.

or sticking with the original, with a slight modification

I would like it to become "Look East".

And once the current "Look East (Cambridge sub-opt)" area becomes a stand-alone region (Milton Keynes based), it have a totally non-"Look East" title (e.g. "Mid-Anglia Today", or something).

Look North and Points East have gone through to next week's final

And here's this week's short list

Anyone got any favourites? and also anyone any idea which sensible one is likely to win. If it's Look North it really will be a bit of a anti-climax!

Here's the final shortlist

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

That's perfect, East of Goole Only.

Cumbria and Borders - Look North
Tyne and Wear, Tees, North Yorkshire - Newsroom North East
Leeds and surroundings - either Leeds Tonight or Yorkshire Tonight
Hull etc. - Newsline East

and these names would work:

hmm so the generic names that don't favour any area like Compass and Focus didn't get through... meaning that the original contention that Look North alienated people in certain areas is null and void?

its nice to know that something good, amidst the destruction, disease and human misery came from the hurricaine. peter emailed me today to let me know ....

"I had an e mail from a man who watches the show every night on the internet and says that despite being caught by the hurricane and loosing his electricity, he still managed to watch the show on his battery powered computer and thanks us for keeping him in touch with the outside world"

i know if i was caught in a hurricane, my main priotiy would be to see peter banter with paul and peter talking to vicki michelle from allo allo or tina from bad girls

Yes, when disaster strikes the audience gravitates towards the BBC, putting their faith in its accuracy and authority. And perhaps a word or two from the Chuckle Brothers, live in Skegness.
