I Like the suggestion of W-A-N-K for the new name. It's catchy, easy on the eye and sums up the programme in one short phrase. You could even lengthen it to qualify the presenter............you get my drift!

I've been re-reading Richard Whiteley's biog this week. He describes in it how they came up with the name 'Calendar' as being distinctly un-regionalised and easily adaptable. I'm sure if he was still here, he'd be laughing his wig off at all this.

Well they might as well stop the vote now...I think we have a winner!

I can just see it on screen now:

That would be great! Never mind "Levy Live", "The Peter Levy Show" is a worthy title and the one I will be voting for!

Come on, you know it makes sense!

'This is BBC1 in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire - now, tonight's edition of The Peter Levy Show - tonight, presented by Peter Levy.'

Or when Peter is away:-

'...tonight's edition of The Peter Levy Show - tonight, presented by Claire Frisbee.'

What happens for the morning bulletins and lunchtime summary. Will they still call it The Peter Levy Show then? Or will they call it The Claire Frisbee Show?

These are all questions that need to be answered. Anyway, vote option 3 on that second list everyone!

Why not just toss a coin, and then either call it Look North or Look East? You could build the coin tossing event in to a live announcent at 1800 HRS; that would thenn give them half an hour to chuck a few book-cases around the set if it came up as Look East.

The new name for Look North will be.......Look North.

Anyone can see that this exercise has been about letting people 'have their say' on the name issue.

If 90 per cent of the audience voted for w-a-n-k-a-r-o-u-n-d tonight, the show would still end up being called Look North.

Amusing to read Alf Garnett's back track on 'Hull Live' though. Clearly a man not given to easily saying 'I was wrong!'

Evil or Very Mad

How dare you criticize 'The Peter Levy Show'. Why is it a waste of the licence fee? Confused:

On Look Lincs focus on Points East today North with Peter Levy earlier this week, one of the news stories was BBC Radio Humberside receiving 'a new sound', that's a new jingle package.

They even played one to see if we liked it. Personally I found them awful, particularly the singing of the station name. They keep interrupting me in my car as well with news about the quiet bit of the M62

As a general point - as someone who's only ever seen this bulletin when I was on holiday at a Butlins in Skegness - how come it generates so much interest? Nearly 200 pages on this - no other local news bulletin compares.

It is an absolutely appalling piece of TV, and watchable for that reason. The presenter is a one off - more luvvie than journalist. Technically it has more glitches than the space shuttle at take off and some of the editorial ideas are straight from the asylum.

It is car crash tv at its very finest and I am hooked.
