blimey this thread is quiet - lets hope it picks up again when square eyes returns from his hairdressing course.

It'll liven up again tommorow when Short List 2 is revealed on Look North Hull.

Clare Frisby did lunchtime today, first time since she's been back

It reminded me that I really do far prefer Clare to Ms Ackroyd... nothing really against Christa, I just think Clare's more down to earth and natural.

And am not sure Breakfast with Andrew and Julie works - they just don't seem to have clicked, and I'd bring back Jamie Coulson with the news if I were them... the number of times the bulletin's gone a bit wonky which for the main news sounds a bit odd at time

Are you serious??? The news sounds much better read by Andrew and Julie, who sound like they've been working together for a long time. The bulletins with Jamie were long, boring and uninteresting.

By the way its now one year since the new sound of today's West Yorkshire started, and BBC Radio Leeds started broadcasting from the new studios along with the new jingles, Trish Bertram voice overs, and the new play as much music as you can policy.

Even after letting go of most of the old presenters and most of the newstalk, they've still got Tim Crowther and Joe Maiden doing the Gardening hour at 9am on a Sunday. That surely must be in line for the chop soon.

Lord, is it really a year!? How on earth did that happen!!

Imaging and production still sounds really good.

In terms of programming, I can see what they're trying to do am just not convinced it happens all the time...

I still don't like the 'mind the gap' travel news within the headline sequence. They should move it to :59.
Breakfast is probably the best show left. I just can't listen to most of the rest of the schedule, what with them playing so much music there is barely anytime left for any talk. On Drivetime you'll probably only have time for one feature before the :15 headlines

This was the first of two short lists for the new name of Look North Hull

Look North and Points East have gone through to next week's final

And here's this week's short list

Anyone got any favourites? and also anyone any idea which sensible one is likely to win. If it's Look North it really will be a bit of a anti-climax!

I think we should start a pot going here for some money to ensure 'The Peter Levy Show' as the winner. Laughing

They're all rubbish, my personal favourite was "The Ego Has Landed", shame thats not in the line up.

Hopefully they will end up keeping Look North and this silly charade will have been for nothing.

So what did happen to "Hull Live" then Alf ? we should be told.

In a word, yes.

I don't like random comments that aren't funny during the news... Andrew and Julie do it fine most mornings, but when other presenters fill-in it goes horribly wrong with wrong audio firing, random comments - just smacks of unprofessionalism, not a laid back approach.

It is a shame as Drivetime really did use to be a very good news programme. I appreciate it's perhaps not what most people want to hear (though you could argue it's what the BBC should be doing?) - but back in the Ian Timms days I remember it being very well done.
