The fact that they are moving seems very low key, are they just taking the current set with them or something!.
Yes, but if they'd promoted it in a high-key way, they'd be accused of wasting licence-payers' money..... I've heard on the grapevine that tomorrow's show will have some special reports in.....
Claire had a special look behind the scenes in the Breakfast studio this morning just before 8am. She turned to a camera to her right showing the monitors, autocue, etc, and also explained how you never saw her hands because she was pressing the buttons to drive the bulletin.
I imagine this will have led everyone to believe it was her fault there was no sound on most of the weather bulletin!
That idea with Clare Frisby was replicated on the lunchtime show too - Clare sitting in the gallery, and then we saw a montage of old Look North clips. there was someone that looked like Rik Mayall attempting to snog Judith Stamper, Harry Gration riding a bike, a VERY young Clare Frisby, a small bit of Philip Hayton and one of Clare and Mike sitting at that big table with three circles!
The show ended with Clare back in the studio, surrounded by the lunchtime show's production crew and Lisa Gallagher. Lisa and I had been working on a connected placenames project for the final lunchtime show, and we managed between us to produce 'Bye bye Woodhouse Lane' for the map! It's believed that I am the only person in the lunchtime's history to have had a connected placenames idea for the lunchtime map!
Judith Stamper was looking brilliant on the last show from Woodhouse Lane, wasn't she? Sophie Raworth made an appearance via a link from London to talk about the show. Others present in the studio were Brian Baines, Sue Wilkins and Ken Cooper. Harry Gration remarked that combined, the total year's worth in the studio was about 300 (?), and Christa said she was the 'baby' of them.
Others making contributions to the show 'by proxy' were Philip Hayton, one of the early presenters, Darren Bett and Damian Johnson. It was rather bad not to have included Peter Levy in the equation, even if it had been something like a pre-recorded link from Hull to Leeds with some anecdotes etc... as he was so well-liked on Look North's Leeds lunchtimes.... even with his new life as a Hull presenter, something could, and should have been worked out.....
I was glad to have contributed the last connected placenames idea in the Woodhouse Lane era, too!

It was also strange that Clare Frisby didn't appear on the main Look North as well, I wonder why that was, the fact that Christa took her job maybe!
I agree they should have featured Peter Levy, its as if he's been completely erased from the Leeds history, I'm sure half of the viewers in this half of the region don't know where he's gone!
The best bit for me was as mentioned, Clare's behind the scenes bits on Breakfast. I taped both the 7.55 and 8.55 after Clare tipped us off on the 7.25 that there would be something special coming up. On the 8.55 Clare turned to the special side camera right at the end and did her farewell into that, she then turned and pressed the opt-in button, which looked completly understated and small considering its probably one of the most important buttons on the desk!
No doubt at 6.25 on Monday Clare will be back but instead of the self-opt desk she'll no doubt be stood behind a lecturn or sat on the edge of an ironing board!
I also thought that Mike McCarthy was a notable absentee. Even if he does now work for Sky, I don't see that a one-off appearance for a reunion would hurt.
I thought Sophie Raworth was looking rough after her pregnancy on the 10.25 bulletin until I realised it was Ken Cooper with the wrong caption.
Thought I'd try and watch last nights on their website, both 1830 editions are just blue screens and the 1330 is an edition from April/May - it has a trail on the end for teh Eurovision Song Contest!
