CSO = Colour Separation Overlay, also known as Chromakey. The green/blue screen effect used for the weather etc

And that is what Gemma has been sitting in. I presume Yorkshire TV have several of these, for the sub opt outs.

Here's some pics of how the Calendar newsroom was transformed into the Package Holiday Undercover nerve-centre. I wonder how many of those people were Calendar employees working on the late bulletin wearing a pink t-shirt pretending to be answering the phones. Comparisons can be made with pics of how the newsroom usually looks on Calendar.

Yes - odd that, last time I was there that area had been converted to offices, I'm sure... (was about 3 years ago though, so can't be 100% sure)

Incidentally I have it on good authority that Calendar will be back in the proper studio on Monday. The move to the newsroom has been to allow a technical upgrade of the gallery. Quite what this involves I don't know I'm afraid.

Indeed, just watched this on the website as I couldn't quite believe it could be as utterly ludicrous as you described above, Alf.....but it was....and worse......meaningless and certainly not journalism or even entertainment.....and we have to pay a tax for this utter sh*te ...just how long can it go on???

We were treated to "Look Brid" tonight otherwise known as the Peter Levy Summer Special.

At least when Calendar did OB's it wasn't at the expense of the rest of the region, and the actual NEWS of the day.

Was holiday undercover 16:9? Does the newsroom have a gallery that was brought out of being mothballed or was there a scanner parked outside?

Package Holiday Undercover is Recorded mainly on Digibeta for the psc filming 16:9 & framed 14:9 safe, Unless its undercover then its recorded on mini dv-cam. so it should Tx 14:9
