Ah, 'Your Big West' from Brass Eye! Shame it was just a brief sequence.

I was also always rather disappointed that Chris Morris didn't do a 'regional opt' as part of The Day Today... especially as the local news p*ss-take on its radio predecessor, On The Hour, was superbly savage.

"Our top story... A cardboard box is still blowing around the town centre too-night.

"More on today's nuclear explosion in which a seventeen thousand mega-ton warhead blew up France. We look at its implications on plans for a new cycle route through the town centre."

"Coming up... How far are we from Kent today?"

The weekend bulletins of Calendar were presented from a bulletin CSO, first time in weeks that this has been used for the main service. I thought something fishy was going on.

This week's Calendar is being presented from the newsroom and has also returned to the OB format for one week only, with Gaynor Barnes out and about across the region all week.

Here's Duncan in the newsroom

Here's Gaynor at Castle Howard. She's in Skegness tommorow

The News Round-Up was hosted by Duncan Wood instead of a seperate presenter

Its because they are Re-Vamping the main studio, Me thinks & knows,`` You hear it here 1st`` & on Thursday & Friday or both one of the presenters will be doing an OB from way outside the region, stay tuned! Wink

There was no sub-opt bulletins today either, so it looks like they've only got one studio in use, the Calendar East cupboard

At Lunchtime Duncan said they wern't in the studio due to them 'having the builders in'

Yes, if you remember when they broadcast Calendar from the newsroom in February, you could see the ITV logo placard which is hung on the wall, same place as where it hangs in PHU.
