Must say this was superb and I WAS moved. Had me in tears (but not of sadness and happiness). Give that woman an oscar. (Also a bit spooky cos I wear eyeshadow, earings and shoulderpads just like hers whenever I watch BBC regional news on a home movie projector Very Happy .) Now I'm hungry for the next episode...

Got me thinking........ why doesn't look north hull just buy the rights to sons and daughters and re-edit episodes cunningly intercut with archive LN Hull footage? it'd be sooooo much better.
there could be cameo appearances from that guy who played spike in hidehi and everything.
result: half the audience wouldn't even notice and the other 27 would find the new version so cutting edge and entertaining they'd have to lie down. levy could go back where he belongs playing val doonican to the elderly and clinically depressed on bbc local radio. AND of course - best of all -the show would have a CLASSIC piece of theme music/title sequence...I can just see the guy who used to play Philip in Neighbours' face merging into the Humber Bridge...

No I'm not - if it counts, I work as a volunteer for hospital radio and am receiving presenter training..... I also do fundraising, ward rounds collecting record requests from patients, music purchasing, playlist compilation and updating of purchased music info on the computer's record library database.
