Where have those awful plasma graphics in that dreadful thin font suddenly appeared from on Calendar ?

Ok, so it might be good that they are breaking the mould, but at least make them half decent, they match nothing.

It's good that they are moving away from the corporate look though. It seems that since they got their upgrade they are trying new things out.

I'm sure they could have slotted it in somewhere else instead of dropping the whole programme

Would you care to look at Sunday's schedule and suggest where they could have put it?

1.35pm on BBC TWO?

Not quite sure how you're going to fit an hour-long Superleague show in there instead of half an hour of gardening. Or did you mean chop the first half hour off Eastenders as well?

Following the look into the archives due to the sad death of Richard Whiteley, here is a montage I've just knocked together of all the Calendar opening themes from the 1970s to present day. It's about 2 minutes long. It's good to see the progression through the years

Calendar Montage

Which theme do you like best?

Very nice there Andrew, my favourite theme is the 1995-97 one - the theme that accompanied that 'map of Yorkshire on a flying plate' with all those flying circular objects in the background. I didn't think much to the last Calendar theme (2003, before the generic look) but liked the previous one (from 2000).

On a different note, what do you all think about the new Calendar graphics appearing on the plasma screens? I think that each region should have their own look but with a 'generic feel', so as to keep in with the idea of 'ITV News Group'.

Been preoccupied as of late with a 10-day hiking holiday in the Lake District (Saw the Red Arrows at Whitehaven), followed by yet another Red Arrows display at Waddington's airshow. Five more to come before the year's out!

Wonder if Paul Hudson could do a very long-range forecast for summer 2012? A torrential downpour of British gold?

*Mops brow*

It's good to have you back Kat - you had us worried.

Square Eyes was just dialing Crimewatch when you posted and Alf Garnett has been sticking your picture on milk cartons.
