Here is a selection of captures from tonight's Calendar tribute. For those of you who didn't see it, the full 30 minutes was dedicated to Richard Whiteley

I watched it earlier, it was very good.

Look North made a bit of a hash of the start of the late bulletin tonight. Viewers got to see the start of BBC London News before crashing into Look North with Ian White already in mid flow.

And I do think they are verging on using Dickie Bird a bit too much. As well as the main programme, He was the one and only guest on the late Look North. One appearance on this occasion is ok, but surely he isn't the only person available?!

From watching the bulletins I didn't see on the ITV regions website. It seems that..

GMTV bulletins were with Duncan Wood with Richard Whiteley being the only story. Duncan was back again for Calendar News at 10.55am, again only one story. Carolyn Hodgson presented Calendar South and Jason McCartney did Calendar East. These were the only sub-regional bulletins all day and also the only ones that contained a short tribute followed by some other news.

Calendar Lunchtime News with Duncan Wood was dedicated to the news with no opt outs as of course was Calendar itself. Michelle Gee presented the late Calendar News, again with only one story dominating the headlines.

Well done to Look North Leeds - a crateful of awards won at last night's Royal Television Society Awards. (best prog, best presenter, etc, etc.)

I hear Peter Levy turned up with an expectant smile on his face, but walked away with nothing.

This is the second award ceremony that look North (Hull) has bombed at. Should this not tell the editors in Hull something about he quality of the output?

The first 10 minutes of last night's Look North (Leeds) also featured a tribute to Richard Whiteley. Mostly using the material provided by Yorkshire Television

Look North (Hull) also had a shorter tribute. One personal memory from Peter Levy was when Richard appeared on Lunchtime Look North with Peter and Paul a few years ago
http://www.hillyard22.freeserve.co.uk/rws37.jpg

It showed on tonight's Calendar how people were marking their respects and laying flowers outside the main entrance to Yorkshire Television on Kirkstall Road. There is a book of condolence and also one in his home town of Bradford in the foyer of the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television.

And of course congratulations to YTV with it's six awards from the RTS.

The ident on BBC1 at 12.05pm was voiced by Harry Gration. He announced that this was "BBC1 North" and that due to a very late schedule change there was no Super League Show this week. He apologised to "rugby fans"

I'm sure they could have slotted it in somewhere else instead of dropping the whole programme

Would you care to look at Sunday's schedule and suggest where they could have put it?

Where have those awful plasma graphics in that dreadful thin font suddenly appeared from on Calendar ?

Ok, so it might be good that they are breaking the mould, but at least make them half decent, they match nothing.

I'd thought the same. It reminds me of a recoloured version of this...
