Oh, for heaven's sake - the lad's just started in the job and you're already dismissing his abilities? Give him a break and appraise his progress for at least a year.... the reports are not dumbed down - do you have any specific examples of this 'dumbing down'? Would be grateful if you could back this allegation up with some concrete examples of it.

Utter complete bunk - of course they would. Paul Murphy is excellent at handling hard news as he's shown on countless occasions, which hark back to his days in Leeds. his reporting on the Colin Inglis case highlights this very well.

I don't think so - they've shown they cut the banter when there's hard news to cover so that just wouldn't happen. I think you know that really....

You might like to know that on today's show, there were more references to Scunny than Hull. No pics of Hull either - I believe it was Whitby Harbour's turn tonight. Bridlington got two reports, Spilsby in Lincs got one, and there was also a report about speed limits on the the A15 which would concern, affect and interest a huge number of Lincolnshire residents in the following villages, towns and cities..

Market Deeping, Bourne, Billingborough, Folkingham, Osbournby, Sleaford, Ruskington, Leasingham, Waddington, Bracebridge Heath, Lincoln, Scunny again, Barton-upon-Humber, Brigg, Barnetby and Hull itself. Don't forget that it's a major route up the middle of Lincolnshire so nearly the whole county's transport interests would have been catered for in that article!

A different look during GMTV this morning, with a non corporate Calendar logo on the plasma. The presenter is Rachel Philips

Though it looked like there were problems - there was no 6.35am bulletin, just the GMTV filler, then there were no reports / graphics on the next one just a straight read even with the weather at the end.

Very good interview with Archbishop Desmond Tutu today on Look North Hull. Peter Levy did the interview live from some sort of global business conference in Hull.....

He also had his blood tested 'live' on the programme tonight as well

Both Calendar and Look North Leeds will be providing comprehensive coverage live from Royal Ascot at York all next week. Expect to see the female presenters wearing fancy hats and outfits all week.

Well yes I saw that [don't ask me why] and it was blatantly not live.

One assumes because the results took longer than 10 minutes in reality -- or he lacked in confidence over his bleeding ability. Why is so much of the Look Norths' programmes recorded [except the weather -- heaven forfend] ?

Apart from the odd important interview, I'd be very surprised if anything on WT is ever recorded -- even the 6.00/6.15 inserts are done live.

Looked a bit suspect to me... when he did the link to Paul, he wasn't holding the swab he was given, and there weren't any splashes of blood to be found!

A lot of Look North seems to be recorded. Due to the suspect technical standards since they moved to the new studios they've given this away many times. Often running a 'coming up' sequence and then going back to the studio with Harry and Christa shuffling their papers instead to a recorded section.
It's often a give away when they have a guest on, finish talking to them, then cut to another camera and start talking about them as if they arn't there (which they arn't!)

There was none of this on The Peter Levy Show of course, instead viewers in the East were entertained by Peter's latest guests
