What's with getting offensive ? Somebody has expressed an opinion that Look North Leeds is going down the toilet at lunchtime, so why seek to belittle them ?

Just because you work for the programme, doesn't mean we all have to love it. And have you read any of Katherine's posts, she's the one extolling the virtues of the banter as Look North's unique selling point.

And remember Katherine said only a few days ago that she would not be watching her local news at lunchtime but opting to watch the Leeds show instead, when she thought this was going to be the only place to see live Paul Hudson at lunchtime.

Moving on, instead of this live/recorded solution, maybe they could employ a third weather presenter, with each region paying for one and a half each or possibly go to a recorded London forecast at breakfast time and have Lisa and Paul both doing the main shift, one per region swapping over every day. This would have an effect on local radio though.

Yup, thanks Katherine, you prove my point exactly.

Therefore Andrew was valid in saying that the Leeds programme has gone right downhill due to the diminishing presence of banter. Would you not agree ?

No I don't - each show is under different directorship which would present parameters unique to the show. Different preferences of banter etc...

I wouldn't say that the Leeds show HAS suffered due to perceived loss of banter. Banter DOES happen and it's often hilarious e.g. the snake incident and the results are often unpredictable (in this case Christa 'seeming' to storm off set). Something you'd see if you had appropriate digital television arrangements.

And what point have I apparently proved?

Since then, new info regarding Peter, Helen and weather on the show have surfaced. From the info I had before I got this new info, it looked like Lisa would be THE forecaster for the Hull show but since Peter Levy corrected me on that saying it would be mainly Paul, I have since changed my setup, with better results.

I'm using my bedroom VCR to record the TF218836 lunchtime show (sorry Gavin!), and the VCR in the living room to record the Emley lunchtime show! I'm not missing a minute of either!

I could make some remark about how sad this all is, the only reason to watch Look North (well actually only ten miles of the studio) is for the 'banter' (some people would call this sarcasm) and according to friendly old Kat, sarcasm is not funny (previous posts refer).

However, I think the word 'crap' covers it all. Please, recording Look North and setting up a system for covering it is obsessive. Is this part of the infamous disease (illness). Now Kat says I ought to read my Peter & Jane books, but I just can't get off level 3a!

How I support Look North is MY business, and NONE of yours.

Appearing soon in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, two brand new adverts, starring Peter Levy, Helen Fospero, Paul Hudson, about 200 people from the region and ME! Went off to the filming of these, called 'The Big Photo' in Hull today, and have just got back.

Will feature lots of cheering, arm waving, sweeping camera shots of the group from above using (what do you call them? Booms? Jibs?) and people holding tiles in the air, which will form A) a map of the region and B) a huge picture of Helen, Paul and Peter! I was tile holder 114 BTW, and in the centre of the tile-holders will be Paul, Helen and Peter!

There will be a 'making of' article or two on Look North shortly, and the new adverts will be used on television, cinema, sides of buses, billboards etc... all over East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire from mid-October! Great fun and a brilliant experience.

I hope you got to keep the tile as a memento Katherine!
