Perhaps the Met Office hasn't remembered to give Paul the clothing allowance he gets from them this time round......

What's wrong with the tie?

In the photos, the ties are identical. And the jackets....

As well as all the local radio forecasts he does every day - quite a few without much banter...

Indeed it looks like Calendar have had an upgrade, now with animated national news style captions, there's also a new dark blue animated background and a fancy animated sports result caption. The DOG is back and for the first time says Calendar above it, rather than just the 4 squares. Here's some captures from tonight's Calendar News and Sport with Jason McCartney

Granada have had this upgrade since April, BTW when the astons animate, do the four squares flash, as Granada's does this.

Those caps show that Calendar has made the best use of the generic studio. It's not cramped, the lighting is lovely, the extra plasma area is both useful and adds to visually pleasing nature of the studio and the framing and angle of all the shots just look smashing.

And the full screen graphics always look a lot nicer than any other region which just tends to be bland.

How anyone can watch Peter and his celebrity friends or Harry and Christa in Peter Davison's tardis is anyone's guess.

You not heard of brand loyalty then?

This one is a particularly nice shot

That extra front plasma is a good feature, and they use it very well.

This is a pretty dumb thing to say - especially coming from a moderator. Most people watch Look North to find out what is happening in their region, Calendar effectively covers two regions now so the local aspect of the news is more diluted. It is also worth remembering that in the real world (ie outside this forum) people are far more interested in the news, sport and events that are happening in their area and not really interested in the internal gossip / politics behind the camera or the relative positions of the plasma screens.

I take it you're not intending to last long here.

Personally, I wouldn't take a pair of bolt cutters to my willy in that sort of way, not while re-registering for banned members is switched off.

I have been putting sensible points on this thread for about two years. If putting an opinion forward gets me banned then so be it. I hope the forum is more broad minded that that.
