It wouldn't really have mattered if it was a police man, or if it was the guy campaigning against the police, as Peter didn't let the poor bloke get a word in, and I still say there is no point going to the effort of interviewing someone if you won't let them speak. It is very rude to talk over someone, if nothing else.
How about Look North Hull drop this crazy pretense about being a news programme and we go back to the old format from Leeds, with a five minute opt out in Hull presented by Helen , or Jenny, or Caroline, or anyone else who understands the meaning of the word news. We could have a nice half hour interactive 'Peter Levy Show' for those who don't actually want to watch the news, including a five minute stand up comic spot with Paul Hudson standing in a small room with a map behind him - where they both say insulting things about viewers who have bothered to get in touch.

Indeed, the main reason for the Hull programme was so there could be "three times more news, sport & weather" for the east of the region. In the event there's so little actual news there probably isn't much more that isn't featured on Calendar East.

I'd like to know what Hull are nominated for, are they basing it on before Helen left, or a single specific show?

Warranted, a lot of interesting points are being mentioned here, but TBH, the constant sniping from all parties towards Look North Hull is becoming worryingly obsessive at the moment......

I agree that it is getting a bit personal. However this show is of such a low standard that I think forum members get frustrated. I suspect that one or two or those who post here actually work on Hull Look North!

I don't know about LN Hull personnel writing on the Forum but I do know it is read at Queens Gardens. I was talking to a LN Hull reporter today who has read the last weeks posts with concern and added "you know things are bad when Kat starts to critisize us!".

And yes it is true there are unhappy people at Hull.

Does this mean they hold my opinion in high regard? If so, I am willing to attend any relevant production meetings to put my ideas to them directly...... I have this unwavering belief that the news for them IS out there, but they're not looking far enough for it! A reporter could have been sent to cover the opening of Boston's May Fair but Look North gave this no publicity.

They might be heartened to know I'm working on my ideal programme setup..... easy and practical ways to improve things.......

MESSAGE TO LOOK NORTH HULL PEOPLE READING THIS FORUM:

Invite me to your next big meeting, and I'll present my vision for a better programme - I have ideas about community involvement (both for presenters and members of the public), better sports reporting and improved regional identity.

You might stand a better chance of getting your voice heard if you join a thing called The Regional Advisory Council - members of the public who are consulted about output. Ring the BBC in Hull for details (sorry don't have number byt it's no doubt on their website)

That is an incomparable kettle of fish - I don't have a husband and child in London!
