Okay, soft might be good for PART of a local news programme, but NOT the whole damn half hour.

On the flipside, is it good for a show to be too hard all the way through? All shade and no light? Dare you sit through half an hour of Christa-hard interrogation?

I can't agree with this business about Finningley airport. Look North Hull presents itself as covering the Humberside region. Humberside already has an international airport at Kirmington.

The main impact of Finningley airport is the effect it will have on services and employment at Humberside airport.

Not quite - most of western and south-western Lincolnshire, Lincoln to a degree and viewers in north Notts round Worksop and Retford would be in the service area of Robin Hood Airport.

That doesn't mean that Retford is a place worthy of going to though. On the upside, I feel like Katherine has recognised meeeee!

No, but it would be nice if Look North Hull had more than just a couple of news stories every night instead of the endless stream of embarassing sofa interviews, where Levy is either sycophantic or so rude it is unreal. Evil or Very Mad

He once was slightly rude to me just before we recorded our famous 'twosome' in the BBC Hull Open Centre. Just before recording started, he asked me if I was cheap, to which I replied "I won't be in a moment, Peter!"

Got him later on as well with the 'Wigs Cafe' bit! Revenge is sweet!

Well, he is a very ignorant man, Twisted Evil so why wouldn't he be rude to his guests? It always amuses me when he does the boot licking routine, because to me it looks totally phoney. Maybe he just needs to learn to act! Then again people supposedly talk about the 'nice Mr Levy' - does anyone hold that opinion AFTER they've met him? Evil or Very Mad

Are you still sore after Helen F left?

Peter's nice, but you've got to know how to approach him..... I have the knack! Wink

Perhaps he's too nice to do the hard stuff.

Indeed.

I'd hate to see him faced with a situation like the civilian walk-outs at Devon & Cornwall Constabulary in the last week.

I just can't see him turning the thumbscrews on a Deputy Chief Constable like the Spotlight team have been doing.

He has enough trouble with people from the local council/water board/leccy company in the slot "Leave it to Levy" nevermind anything serious. His idea of a hard interview is asking all the questions on his script and ignoring the answers. He's completely out of his depth which is why the show has changed into a televised radio show.

Leeds is suffering as well, Breakfast Look North has gone down hill and now has more presenters than a week of Calendar East, there's no personalty with them anymore, Peter behaved like he actually cared that there was heavy traffic on the Ingram Distributor. Lunchtime was also a show in it's own right with well placed banter, now it's just a taster building up to the main programme. Also since Peter left every other bulletin seems to be presented by Ian White

On a seperate note, it seems John Boyd and Dean Peppall are no longer part of the presenting team of Look North

It might have something to do with the fact Clare Frisby is still on maternity leave.....

Harry Gration presented Lunchtime Look North today. Despite it being a Bank Holiday it was still a full length bulletin

Laughing It feels like forever ago when Helen left! AND my opinion of her in no way affects my opinion of Peter.
This is the man who was once told by one of his collegues that an old lady had been waiting in the BBC foyer for over an hour, just to see him, so it would be nice if he could say 'hello' as he popped out for his sandwich. He went out the other door and walked round to avoid her.
I won't keep this up but I could give litterally hundreds of examples of his attitude that I've personally witnessed that just make me feel a little uncomfortable...
