And there was me thinking it was a serious politicial visit to the region, rather than just a BBC meet and greet.

Over on ITV1 Yorkshire tonight there was a special programme for Britain on the Move: Local Heroes. It was presented by Christine Talbot

Tommorow night at 11pm, there is another special programme, this time about the election. This is on for an hour and will be presented by Duncan Wood and Tim Iredale

The Mark Simmonds' Times appeared in my letterbox this morning, I like how he makes a point of preventing the downsizing of Skegness Hospital, if it were any smaller it would be the size of small terraced house. Fab picture of him standing next to Boris Johnson in the commons too, he gets my vote just for that!

When's the BBC bus coming to Skegness?

As Alf said it's a key marginal and probably deserved a little bit more attention.....

So if they get approached by 'fans' they should ignore them? They don't get too destracted and it's polite to talk to people who approach you. Personally I've never liked the Peter Levy aproach to viewers. If he's out to meet and greet he'll act nice, but if someone just approaches him in the street he'll either ignore them completely or put on a false smile and mumble hello as he stomps by. To me that is rude...

I was listening to Radio Leeds the other day and heard the start of West Yorkshire Sport.
The main jingle says "Commercial free Commentary" whereas the sting promotes the fact that there is "Action not adverts".

I find that sort of promotion, basing it all on the fact that Radio Leeds is funded by the TV Licence unlike commercial radio a bit underhand myself

...Michael Howard who was in Leeds today

Christa Ackroyd on a rough estate, nobody threw eggs at her though

So Hull had Bobby Davro, Leeds had Michael Howard

Because maybe, Leeds isn't in Hull's broadcasting remit. There WAS an interview with Charles Kennedy who was canvassing in Howden though.....

It is getting painful to watch - I am surprised that they can get away with it . Or are they? Will someone higher up in the beeb give them a roasting? Or is Hull just ignored by the big wigs?

Anyone 'on the inside' care to comment?

I do admit, even I am finding some of the programme not so much painful, but itchy. I do hope they re-think their presenter policy and return a woman to Peter's side. Maybe Paul's return might buoy him a bit!
