Just had an odd thought - my sister-in-law Jo works at Leeds General Infirmary, specialising in the care of newborns and neonatals generally, and also in newborns' Intensive Care following heart surgery. Depending on shift, she COULD be assisting Nicola with the birth if she's having a hospital birth! Spooky!

Paul's forecast was recorded on tonight's Look North Leeds

Peter Levy knows why as well - "something that might make itself clear by Monday's programme." ...Sprog imminent!

I felt rather insulted by Peter's suggestion that it would take us until Monday to work out where Paul had gone! If I see Peter tomorrow I might have to go for the "So, what's she had?" line... But he won't bother answering...

If you do, tell him I would like to know too - might tip his balance towards telling you!

Also, following what Square Eyes noted, I might not have been paying attention but I'm sure there was no round up of the rest of todays news from your particular part of the Calendar region on tonight's Calendar.

This lunchtime's Calendar News was a bit rough around the edges. The opening titles took longer to start than usual and there didn't seem to be any captions used. The end was quite funny, Jason McCartney signed off and then stayed in vision for ages, looking at the monitor and shaking his head, finally when they managed to find the endboard you could hear Jason laughing and then they cut back to him covering his face with his papers!. They also held on the summary of Yorkshire Weather for ages as well.

Today's Politics Show OB was like a competition to see how much behind the scenes equipment could get into shot.

Len was talking to a group of voters on a lawn. In the wide shot you could see all the cameramen, other crew holding cables and the sat truck. Two cameras were used for close ups with the other one and other cameraman being seen in shot all the time, there would be a side shot and then a cameraman would rush up in front of someone's face it looked quite ridiculous. Don't they have the zoom function on these cameras?!

On BBC Radio Leeds this morning, there's a new fashion slot with former "Tonight" fashion expert Glen Campbell. He was talking to # Diana Luke this morning about how pink is all the rage for men this season. And to think a year or two ago this slot was filed by Peter Levy's Request show playing hits from the 60s and 70s. How long before they get rid of the gardening show with Joe Maiden at 9am, it seems so out of place now!. I wouldn't be surprised if Alex Hall was on her way out as well.

Radio Leeds are also now opting out of the pan regional Henry Ayrton Swing show and instead its a new show for the 'new asian generation'. First time there's been an asian show on FM.

well she has run out of topics - if its not "what's your favourite vegetable" its 3 songs back to back. car-crash radio at its best, although i doubt that was what they were aiming for.

Not sure on that - the Sunday night stuff used to be on FM at one time - a programme named Junction 774 after the AM frequency. I think that was to avoid moving cricket commentary from AM to FM after the rugby had finished. Or something.
