What about BBC Look North in the 'Answers on a Postcard' region?

How about 'closed very soon-before it dies on it's feet' in the wake of 750 news jobs to go common sense at the BBC. I can think of an easy 200 without going out of the region.

Plus Kat, I'm finding it a bit scary that you know when people are on holiday etc. You seem to be verging on stalker territory here. You really don't have to defend the Look North 'team' as you put it. As far as I am aware the are all grown up's and you don't actually work for the corporation. But it could be down to your bigotory attitude to anything non-BBC.

On Monday Mark Thompson said "local TV output in Hull ... we’ve concluded that we need to put extra money in" rather than make 'efficiencies' as is happening in other areas of the BBC.

Hard working Harry Gration with his mushy pea Saturday graphics

A lot of older presenters hardly do any work when they get to a certain age, I don't think that applies in Yorkshire

Sounds promising!

Regarding my knowing about presenters' holidays - presenters have told me without my asking in the vast majority of cases....

Today's schedule on BBC Radio Leeds was slightly different than usual

06.00 Weekend Breakfast with Russell Walker
09.00 Gardening with Tim Crowther and Joe Maiden
10.00 Sunday Morning with Alex Hall
12.00 Flashback with Bob Walmsley sitting in for Georgey Spanswick
14.00 West Yorkshire Sport
17.00 David Smith
18.00 Gospel Inspiration
19.00 Night Network Programming
22.00 The Alex Hall Late Show

I heard a bit of David Smith at 5pm for the first time, not being a listener of his usual 2-5am slot!. He's one of those radio presenters whose voice doesn't match what he looks like, he sounds like a cheesy DJ!

Isn't that what Radio Leeds are going for nowadays!?

Also, Georgie has been sitting in on Breakfast all last week with Andrew (Mon-Thu) and good presenter she may be, newsreader she isn't.

At least it wasn't Darragh Corcoran. The other week his main feature was an item about bartering, where he was ringing up newsagents asking if they would sell him the Bradford Telegraph & Argus for less than the 32p cover price, bring back Liz Rhodes!

You can say that again... hasn't quite clicked. Not sure where Julie Langford came from anyway - anyone know? I know she did weekend news on Radio Leeds for a few months before taking over at Breakfast.

Darragh also couldn't quite manage to get all the beds / headline pre-recorded bits (sport/weather) in the right place either for a few days.

Of course other radio stations are available - and my bits are always in the right order...!

I think I've commented here before that it's unfortunate that they've decided to play more music on drivetime rather than replace the presenter with someone who knows how to conduct an interview...

Indeed - used to really enjoy the Radio Leeds drivetime show (back in the days of Ian er somebody wasn't it, and then Liz Rhodes). I can get a music based drivetime show on Real, Pulse, Home, Aire, Galaxy, I don't want that from Radio Leeds!
