Don't know if anyone saw this in the Sunday Express, but the reason for one of Christa's absences recently has now come to light. In her most recent column for the newspaper, the main title is 'I'm Proud to Join the Nip and Tuck Gang'. She's had her Jolly Rogers raised! Quote below:

When I had two weeks off to take a little gravity to where gravity had gone before, there were the inevitable "has she or hasn't she?" comments.

Well yes, I hereby admit to having cosmetic surgery, to lifting my boobs, which had gone south after childbirthand years of dieting, and putting them firmly back where they belong. And what's the big deal? I wish I had done it years ago.

Having said that, I'm not one of those people who says it's a life-changing experience. I think you've got to be in the right frame of mind with enough money in the bank to feel it's an extravagance you can live without..............

Cosmetic surgery is not a matter of creating Jordan-esque proportions and, if anyone dares to ask me if they are real, I can say honestly, yes, even if they are a little higher.....

I have to say that I hadn't noticed at all!! But then I'm not one to go round ogling the chests of my fellow sisterhood members.....

I didn't realise she still did that column. What happened to the ban on BBC News staff writing newspaper columns?

It's entitled "BBC 'star' faces newspaper quiz Concern over column"....

Interesting stuff. Ta for that link Katherine.

I notice that article is from March, so it doesn't look like they've done anything about it so far. It does seem however that she's blatantly compromising her impartiality by expressing opinions on Maxine Carr etc.

It's interesting to see that one of her colleagues has snitched on her as well. She's obviously a popular lady! Wink

Also, I didn't realise she earned that much. £120,000 is a big salary for national TV let alone regional TV. I wouldn't mind if she was that good, but IMHO she's really nothing special and looks a bit like a drag act with those awful clothes and constant pouting.

Not for a network tv newsreader it's not.

Look North filming an advert in Hull, September 18th, Helen Paul and Peter will be there, and guess who's got a ticket? ME!

After hitting redial 20 times to get through, I claimed the booty, and only Armageddon will stop me going!

Look out Hull, the irrepressible Kitty's a' comin' back! WHOOPEE!

Most BBC Local Radio is pants - its only there to serve a geriatric audience because they are easier to cater to

I didn't know a core age group of 40-50 was geriatric -

My dad's 57 and FAR from geriatric! He's been on Radio Lincolnshire several times talking about town planning matters and everything.... it's a great station and better than Lincs FM.....

No thanks - I'll be too busy grinning and washing my hair! I am really delighted, especially after receiving such terrible news about my grandfather's death on Friday... a tonic for the soul this is..... Yin and Yang's a funny thing.... kicks you hard one minute, makes you celebratory the next....

ewwww, I'm glad I can't watch anymore. I only like to watch 100% natural presenters, as nature intended. Who does she think she is, Jordan ?

Dunno - in a way I can't criticise as I've had artificial facial cheekbone implants.... although this was to be fair to correct maxillary hypoplasia.....

I'm never quite sure if you're pausing for breath, Katherine. You end every post with "...." - but they're nearly always perfectly formed sentences.

I'm not sure cheekbone implants are the same. Unless Christa was using them for nipples I suppose.

I'm with squarey. I like my presenters 100% natural, even if that means saggy bits. Its something to watch during rubbish stories.
