The Sun are saying if the Tories win a majority the aim is for Brexit to be 11pm on New Years Eve. So broadcasters will be preparing one scenario of big news coverage being needed over the holiday. I can’t imagine Graham Norton airing on BBC1 the moment of Brexit.
I can. This week's Radio Times (that went to press when tomorrow was supposed to be Brexit Day), shows no special coverage on any channel straddling 23:00hrs.
What are you actually expecting them to point a camera at at 23:00hrs on the day it actually happens?
I suspect were Brexit to have happened tomorrow Question Time would have been cancelled or moved to 9pm and a News special aired.

What exactly are you expecting to happen at 11pm on Brexit day? All the lights go out? We drift off into the mid-Atlantic? The effects of Brexit (if any, depending on your personal views) wouldn't be felt for days, weeks or even months/years in some cases. Even if there were more immediate repercussions, it would be unlikely to require a news special overnight. Who would be watching? And if it did happen on New Year's Eve, how many people do you seriously think would tune into rolling news at midnight? That would be a party-pooper if every there was one!!
#Electioncast was on 5Live back in 2017. #Brexitcast was born from it I believe. So unless Sky had #Electioncast back in 2017 then I would side with the BBC having the name. But Sky won’t change and both will have a #Electioncast.
I looked it up and the first episode of Brexitcast was released on the 17th of June 2017. The episode was called “Electioncast is Dead, Long Live Brexitcast!”.

I agree, NYE is meant to a night of celebration, no broadcaster is insane enough to dampen that with news.

The BBC might fell that it has too whatever the date. They clearly planned to do in March.

Going somewhat off-topic here, I was at a club night in London's trendy Dalston one New Year's Eve. They turned on their tellies to Sky News for the fireworks at midnight, but then neglected to turn them off - so the dancefloor was surrounded by the news for a couple of hours until the Sky box went into power-saving mode.

March is a completely different kettle of fish compared to December.

I think they planned in March basically two hours of talking heads and VT's looking back on the UK membership and the referendum - with reports from London, Belfast, Dublin, Brussels and so on.
31st January is a friday for the record.
