Good grief. That debate from ITV was quite poor on substantive detail because of the time constraints available.

The audience clapping was a bit too much for any strong & coherent answers from both contenders.

Another thing I didn't know Shaun Ley was in C tonight. It's nice to see him in a different setting rather than being stuck in E.

Good joke from Shaun there about the Gove & the deputy from Labour being in a pantomine for Christmas. Laughing

Seems Sky's recap was F****** according to Sky's own Niall P.

At the start when Julie was stood between Johnson and Corbyn there was a good five seconds of music playing where it felt like it should have cut to a title sequence, but didn't and then instead eventually cut to a shot of the audience or something, and then very quickly after one of the set, where the trio were suddenly all stood behind their individual podiums, having presumably sprinted across in the second or so they were off-screen?! There was no titlecard, which makes me think it was a mistake as that would have covered the transition much better?

That was the clean feed, which was made available to other broadcasters - I suspect it either went out on YouTube in error, or there were other reasons why the main TX feed wasn't suitable.

When Iain Watson was on OS. The live bug above him changes to ITV Studios instead of saying Salford when on the NC.

I suspect it was always intended to go out, though odd to play it without the titles. The end has a nice transition to Paul Brand introducing The Xtra Debate that was clearly planned - usually with such things you get a lingering shot and an awkward pause, but it was as if it was the same programme.

Did ITV let Sky News/BBC News air it live - previously they've kept exclusivity on their debates.

Nice of BBC News to simulcast ITV behind LauraK tonight, which is a tad odd.

Is the ITV Election Interview programme in the same studio as the one used during the debate earlier?

For those of us who weren't watching, what fun ang games took place on Sky?

I missed the start but I think they lost the link to Salford, so Niall had to fill from Westminster. The trouble was, as he was on air during the debate, hadn't actually watched it. I think they managed to jumble some clips together with Niall looking frustrated and bemused.
