I don't think Rees Mogg has hosted shows for a while now since he took a job in the cabinet.

Middle of January Brexit date if Tories win a majority. Broadcasters sign in relief at no NYE exit and the staffing requirements that would have brought.

God, did they give him a show to balance out Farage?

Might as well call it Daily Mail Radio.

As I’m sure you know LBC has a schedule that evens itself out overall. So for every Farage, there is a left leaning show as well.

Mogg is there to replace Farage, not balance him out, and Andrew Pearce of the The Daily Mail is normally in that Friday slot

Their high profile hosts are at the extreme right though and not counted by political equivalents of the left.

The trouble is perception too - the other 23 hours may be incredibly left leaning but it's the hour of Farage which defines LBC.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the second debate not happen.

No reason it wouldn't - they've already conceded it likely won't feature some leaders.

Interesting to see UKIP sidelined in favour of the Brexit Party. Not surprising but a call that influences the election IMO.

There was no way in hell they were going to have it on NYE in the first place.

It may be that they turn it down for scheduling reasons, they have a lot to fit in before Christmas that cannot be rescheduled like Martin Lewis, How to Spend it Well, Royal Variety etc

Having announced it only mass party refusal would stop it.

They haven't given it a date yet so it's possible that another broadcaster takes it on although maybe if ITV fancy throwing it against BBC One's Sunday schedule, they could but I can't imagine any of the MPs being happy with that scheduling.

It’s going to be a very long election if you keep reporting every snippet of gossip and political grandstanding as gospel fact.

It was only you who seriously thought NYE was on the table in the first place.

The BBC did - they reported NYE as a possible date.
