It's seems vine has had a pay cut at the bbc from £750,000 to around £450'000 no wonder he need the money...

Except the way the amounts were reported has changed, so Eggheads (for example) would no longer be included in that amount, which it was before.

Was Eggheads ever included? I thought all Indies (now including BBC Studios) who paid talent directly were not included in the reported figures. It was only direct payments from BBC Public Service that were reported I thought (i.e. News, Sport, Kids and talent deals independent of production companies?)

I think Eggheads, being a 12 Yard production, wouldn't have been included last year if those rules applied and if Jeremy was employed by 12 Yard rather than the BBC for that role?

Jeremy Vine said on his own show last year that it did include Eggheads. In fact, I mentioned it at the time:

If that is the case - then I suspect that means 12 Yard didn't pay Jeremy and the BBC paid him separately as part of a talent deal. This may now have changed?

That sounds probable - it seems the best explanation as to its inclusion before and exclusion now.

Wasn't expecting Kirsty Gallacher to present.

As I've said before, I've been a huge fan of Kirsty's almost since she started out in the TV business two decades ago - yet even I'm surprised that she's hosting a show like TWS.

While she's undoubtedly a good TV presenter, and she undoubtedly has a heart of gold, I would have thought that she was just a little bit too, y'know, "entertainment" for *this* kind of show - and the same for, say, Davina and Claudia. Mind you, I had similar feelings when Dan Walker took over on Breakfast - and it seems to be working out pretty well for him.

Of course, unlike Dan, Kirsty's helping to keep the seat warm for JV. And I'd be pretty shocked if she was lying in that tweet...

It's at times like this I wish there was an "FFS" button next to the Kudos button...

EDIT: Realistically, I never expected a "Vine"-pun title or similar, but at least something like a generic/bland title (e.g. "Live Talk" or similar) suffixed with the words "...with Jeremy Vine" would have been something . Or even just flanking his name with the words "The" and "Show", or similar.

Literally. Just. His. Name?!

Really, ITN?! Rolling Eyes Thumbs down

"Over on Two, it's Victoria Derbyshire with Julian Worricker. Meanwhile, there's lots to talk about on ITV's Lorraine with Kate Garraway, that's on three - and now, over on Five, it's Jeremy Vine with Matt Barbet"
