The easiest solution is to start TWS at 9am, finish at 11 which maintains the 120 min quota, but then gives a hour between shows.

They should have considered running it from 1500-1700 Daily, so that more of the news agenda could be picked up and covered.

Isn’t The Wright Stuff’s news agenda the news agenda from that days tabloids though, rather than based on any breaking news that may happen before 3pm.

I think the afternoon films rate well enough, cheap to acquire and also repeat well so it's unlikely they'd rid of them

Nothing stopping them putting out filler from 09.30 to 10am and having a films start then. Would provide a proper choice for viewers in the morning.

The Radio Today website has even gone as far to mention that it'll take 11 mins by bike to reach Wogan House from GiN.

An hour to get to GIR, have make up slapped on, and rehearse prepare is probably a little tight, less of a problem the other way round

Dare I suggest they drop the interactivity and film it as-live an hour earlier than broadcast?

Let me guess the name of the new show will be The Grape Vine or something like that?

Does R2 still go into the news at the TOTH? I guess they could extend the bulletin slightly, and perhaps go straight into a song which should give him another 8 minutes, starting his show after 12?

How will he prepare for it, how will he be briefed for it (the radio show)? I can't see this working somehow.

So BBC Radio Two will need a fairly consistent stand in presenter, for that slot when Vine is in Glasgow or on holidays then. Anyone but Feltz.

They need someone used to presenting current affairs programming, fairly relaxed presenting style, and done some live radio speech/music work before.

Matthew Wright, anyone?

I don't understand people's problem with Vanessa Feltz. She can do the programme, she handles the callers pretty well, and I'd say less potentially annoying than Matthew Wright.

Paddy O'Connell has been quite good every time he's covered too.
DE88 and London Lite gave kudos
