I reckon absolute number 1 on their list is Piers Morgan. Won’t happen in a million years (they probably can’t afford him for a start) but he’d be a perfect fit. It needs to be someone outspoken. Someone from the LBC roster might be the best bet.

It won't be James O'Brien, where his first tv gig was on The Wright Stuff with Kate Silverton, nor Nick Ferrari who's show doesn't finish until 10am.

Looking at other radio 'shock-jocks' who may fit.

Well ITN has a good selection of decent candidates Julie Etchingham seems to handle the serious and fluff in other things she does, equally there are several others in the ITN camp who could handle it

Could we see the return of Mark Austin to the UK for the show?

Aren't those guys contracted to ITV, rather than ITN? 5 News presenters and correspondents are paid by C5/Viacom, which would be easier to get on TWS than presenters who work for a different company.

Iain Lee perhaps?

It would mean giving up his radio show which would be a shame

And with all respect, I hardly think people who are currently, or have just recently been, senior presenters and journalists on major primetime news programmes will consider a show on mid-morning Channel 5 talking about what's in the papers a good career move. Loyal audience though it has.
Spencer and London Lite gave kudos

Matthew said on the show this morning that he was going to remain until late June or early July. Near the end of the clip in the tweet below:

How about Matt Allwright as a replacement?? He is not afraid to put his opinion forward... plus no name change to the show would be needed!!
